  1. Not sure exactly where you live but in downtown Katy on 3rd Street there is a place called Olde Town Barber shop. Only one barber there, Scott is his name, so you don't have to worry about getting the wrong guy. I have been going there since I was a kid, always a good haircut.

  2. The master bedroom in my home has a raised(15ft) ceiling, therefore there is no attic above the bedroom. This room is always warmer than the other parts of the house due to this. Does anyone know of anything that can be done to help conserve some energy in this room?

I've heard of some type of insulating paint that helps but I always thought that paint was for the attic not for an actual room/ceiling paint

    Any advice?

  3. Work on the new Hooters has begun, at the corner of Buckeye and I - 10 feeder road, next to Wild West Honda.

    Erick,

The location is great, how do you know that the area is for the Hooters, are their signs up or have you seen some type of proposal/contract? Just curious because i'm all for a hooters in katy.

  4. I've worked in the area for a few years now, some of that area use to be a couple of old abandoned warehouses but most was owned by Courtesy Chevrolet and was used for their used cars/fleet service/and some of the new car inventory. Since Courtesy Chevrolet is no longer opened thanks to Katy Freeway expansion I'm sure they sold it to whomever sold it to Walmart

  5. What the need to do is get a new technology system for the tollway that all vehicles must have an EZ tag to get onto the tollroad and to exit. However instead of being booths throughout the tollroad they would only have them for entrances and exits and a computer would be able to calculate your toll charge by the distance you travelled. This would get rid of all the congestion from the people still using cash/coins on the tollroad which in turn backs up the EZ tag only lanes

  6. Ah, ok. You had me concerned there for a minute. When you said "the river," I was thinking about Brazos or San Jac, and wondering who dropped you on your head as a child... :P

There are several places along the Guadalupe where you can rent tubes and arrange for transportation. Probably a better deal than buying and storing a bunch of inner tubes at home unless you're going to do this kind of thing every other weekend or something.

Well we have 26 people going next Wed. through Sunday and as of right now the place we are staying will not be renting tubes b/c of the river levels so we were hoping just to buy some here in the Houston area. I use to know a place off N. Gessner/Beltway 8 but its not there anymore.

  7. A rail out to the Katy area would be very beneficial for a lot of people and would definitely cut down the congestion on I-10. I think they really could have used the old rails that use to run the length of I-10 before they tore them up for the freeway expansion. They could of had a commuter train running that rail all the way into town. Oh well!
