Who remembers the 1950s restaurant in the Texas Medical Center called McGuire Drive-Inn Restaurant located at 6621 South Main St.

I am looking for pictures of this place. Does anyone know if there are any postcards or matchbooks from here? Is anyone old enough to have ate here? 

one CFISD employee once told me that THE only reason the berry center was being built with a stadium was so that the district could house all of there employees at once for employee confrences and summer seminar.

of course now they cite saving money on rents of Reliant Stadium and Toyota Center for graduations etc, hosting state championships, regional championships, etc.

I got to officiate a game in the berry center this year. I was truly blown away by the facility. It shames Rice's and UH's gym....

What good will that do?

Savoy is fine, but the old Raddison? is an EYESORE. All the airconditoners were pulled out and theres nothing but graffitii on the windows. It'd cost so much money to move back in.

What is the story behind the savoy? I told my GF i bet it was a staple hotel in its day.

When are some of the eye sores from downtown going to be torn down? my girlfriend and I rode around downtown houston today (wishing it wasn't rainging so we could walk) and some of the old, vacant hotels need to be torn down!!

Is the rice hotel still a hotel?

And does anyone know where exactly the scenes of downtown houston were filmed from in Hellfighters?

I contacted Hines management office asking for persmisson to access the observation deck. They allowed me access to watch a sunset.

After that adventure, I'd say that you could probably just walk in the building and take the express elevator to floor 56? and then take the next eleverator to level 64 unless hines has that floor keygaurded as that is there office.
