  1. Frank Liu owns the corner lot on Fannin and W.Belfort. In-town homes was going to build a "fannin station" development there. The traget date had been set for Summer 07 I think. They took down their signs and quikcly pulled the info from their site. I attributed this to them waiting on the Astro-World development plans... perhaps they are trying to be involved in a bigger plan for that area.

  2. I overlooked some info previously, so here are updated details. Each one represents a new listing in MLS.

    10/18/05 - 4/14/06 (179 days): $350,000, reduced to $339,000, reduced again to $328,900

    4/30/06 - 5/25/06 (28 days): $345,000

    6/5/06 - 9/7/06 (94 days): $344,900, reduced to $339,900

    9/11/06 - 11/19/06 (70 days): $339,000

    11/20/06 - 2/14/07 (86 days): $339,000, reduced to $329,900

    2/14/07 - present (153 days): $329,900

So, according to the days above (as calculated by MLS), the home has been on the market for 610 days, with a couple small gaps between listings. It has never changed to pending during that time. Even if there isn't anything wrong with it, everyone probably assumes that there is a problem because of how long it's been sitting around. If I were looking, I would skip it and move on. However, you are the potential buyer...not me.

Honestly as a resident of this area, sounds like that should not be touched with a 10ft pole. I would certainly hire an inspector before putting in a bid. If there was one thing I found while looking at older houses its that an inspector can tell you how much $$$ you will fork out after you buy.

  3. Ignoring all the kiddy bickering, thanks for the update. I'll keep my eyes peeled for news updates in mid-late July.

Houston getting in on one of the fastest growing sports in the country only makes sense. Also they are always throwing out that line about getting the Olympics, this cant hurt.

  4. ... toyota center has a non compete clause and the new stadium will have to get a waiver for it to work.

Any word on the status of this? Was there also a deadline that this deal had to be worked by? and if so has that been extended in order to work out the no-compete clause?

I'm really hopeing that they get the chance to build this. As others have said, this would be a big boost for the east end, and downtown in general really.

  5. I was at the FC Dallas game, it was a good win. Does anyone know anymore about the stadium? I have not heard/read anything since that late May time that they had some deadline for.

    Cheers

    Edit:

    Found my answer.
