  1. Okay. I'm going to go out on a limb to make a prediction here. Sometime during the next five years, the total value spent on developments in Las Colinas in a single year will superceded the total value spent on developments in all of the Houston Metropolitan area in a single year. If I am wrong, then I will bow down to the mighty tall skyscrapers in Houston.

Let's keep an eye on what is going on and update that information in this thread from time to time. Thank you.

Nucklehead, you really are a Nucklehead.

  2. I am aware of that... I was just saying that if Houston had only 1 airport it would probably be higher on the list of "busiest" airports.

I guess by the same logic the other airports would still rank higher if they only had 1 airport.

  3. I'm looking forward to this, but I'm not getting excited until they break ground. I'm always leery about this kind of thing, no matter how much information is released.

Break ground, clear some land, get a couple of things up, then I'll cheer.

Is there a link for Earth Quest, the more info I hear about this the more exciting it gets. I think this is going to be awesome for the Houston area but also for the state of Texas.

  4. Actually, that is not a glass facade at all. If you look closely, the "facade" faces toward the west, specifically toward Jerry World in Arlington. The "facade" is made of specially designed fresnel prisms, capable of focusing light in a very precise pattern. This will cause an unbearable amount of heat to be generated on the Dallas Cowboys' new stadium, rendering any attempt at a comfortable viewing experience impossible. The City of Dallas, in a secret meeting, has approved funding to build this tower, including its Death Ray facade, regardless whether any of the units are sold. The belief is that after 2 or 3 games in 145 degree heat, Jerry Jones will cry uncle, and beg to play his games in the refurbished Cotton Bowl, thereby recouping the millions spent funding the Museum Tower.

Once the Cowboys are safely moved to the Cotton Bowl, the Death Ray will be refocused on Fort Worth City Hall, removing once and for all any opposition to the repeal of the Wright Amendment.

Brilliant move, if I do say so myself.

  5. Here are some cities I think could work, but they'd have to play in small venues. I don't see all of these cities selling out a 70k seat stadium for 8-10 games a year.

    Las Vegas

    San Antonio

    Portland, OR

    Sacramento, CA

    Orlando, FL

    San Jose, CA

    Colombus, OH

    Louisville, KY

    Oklahoma City, OH

    Good selections, what about Austin?

  6. So there will be no party central location?

Well, you still have P. Diddy's Parking Lot Celebration at Chili's Arlington location.

Although I would like to throw some jabs, but you are right! One thing I think Jerry doesn't understand is atomosphere. Sure it's nice to have a beautiful wonderful big stadium, but it's the atomosphere that makes it great. I missed the Houston SB but I had plenty of friends who went (not to the game) just for the atomosphere in which they said was awesome!!! And this is what I fear hear. The only way I can see this SB having that somewhat same type of atomosphere is if all SB activities were in Arlington and DTD, Victory, Uptown (which it could support but will not happen). But driving way across town (and sitting in traffic) for this and for that just wont do it.

  7. I also heard that overall Indy just had a better presentation, (Stadium in the city near all the venues, not as spread out) but they just couldn't get around the 100,000 seats which meant more revenue for the NFL, which is what led to the close vote.

And although I'm happy this region will host the S.B. but I think after they witness how spread out eveything will be, they wont come back. I understand NTexas wants to work together as a region and give everybody a piece of the action (with the game in Arlington, NFL experience in Dallas, AFC in Ft. Worth, NFC in Irving, and so on and so on), but I think this is what will hurt it.IMO

  8. And after the Super Bowl in 2011 the count will still be Houston 2 and Dallas 0 since the Super Bowl in 2011 is in Arlington, not Dallas. ha ha :P

Oh man I'm gonna really hate doing this because I could really care less about all the bashing that goes on on this forum (and I really think you Houston guys are cool), but here goes...Yes you guys have hosted more Superbowls than Dallas. But Dallas has hosted more Super bowl parades and celebrations than Houston: Dallas 5 Houston 0

  9. More than likely it was played at Robertson--although that may be an entirely different game. The last time Texas played UH in Houston, the Longhorns won 53-26 and that game was definitely played at Robertson (Bleacher Gate).

Anyway, I hope UH eventually gets around to intiating the final renovations to Robertson (the one that has the facility eventually expanding to 50,000 seats). I've always liked the designs of the new yard.

Thanks! that was the game because I remember that score. The game was a lot closer than the score appears.

  10. Can you guys help me out, I think it was 5 or 6 years ago, or maybe it was the last time UH played Texas, I think the game was in Houston? From what I remember UH was very competitive throughout the game and really surprised Texas; however, Texas ended up winning the game. My question is was this at Robertson Stadium, I know it wasn't in the Dome?

  11. EDIT: I'll also admit that it's easier for Fl/Ga and UT/OU to play each other every year because they're already conference games. LSU/A&M would require some non-conference schedule tinkering, which can be a lot more tedious.

This is true but also remember UT/OU wasn't always a conference game until Texas joined the Big 12 from the SWC.

  12. Kansas City - W (reason why? The Texans plays hard during their opening season games).

    Carolina - L

    Indy - L

    Atlanta - L

    Miami - W

    Jacksonville - W

    Tennessee - W

    San Diego - L

    Oakland - W

    New Orleans - L

    Cleveland - W

    Tennessee - L

    Tampa - L

    Then you have...

    Broncos - L

    Indy - L

    Jacksonville - W

    I see a 7-9 record!

    Those are my identical predictions!

  13. I say a possible playoff berth this year, at the very least, we go 10-6.

With so much parody in the NFL today I guess anything is possible, but I would like for you to show me at least 10 wins.

    Week 1 Kansas City

    Week 2 Carolina

    Week 3 Indy

    Week 4 Atlanta

    Week 5 Miami

    Week 6 Jacksonville

    Week 7 Tennessee

    Week 8 San Diego

    Week 9 Oakland

    Week 10 New Orleans

    Week 11 Cleveland

    Week 12 Tennessee

    Week 13 Tampa
