The Katy Freeway ends in Katy for me. Anything past Katy is I-10.

I would call all of 45 south the Gulf Freeway ,45 N the North Freeway until somewhere between Conroe and the Woodlands. Calling it the North Freeway in Conroe just feels dumb.

288, 225 I just call by number.

Maybe they should all go by their freeway names only as far as the Transtar traffic sensors go.

My favorite restaurant in the 70's was The Happy Buddha on lower Westheimer. It burned multiple times in the 80's.

I loved Hamburgers by Gourmet. There used to be a number of locations, even a few in Austin.

I loved Chili's way back at the beginning when damn near all they had was Chili Dogs.

Favorite Chinese was Timmy Chan's on Main (Or maybe Fannin or San Jacinto) between 59 and the Med Center.

Bonanza was a pit. The Sizzler was the place to go for quality.

There has been a lot of discussion about the rooftop pool, but I would like to point out that I am not aware of any Embassy Suites with an outdoor pool. So, perhaps it will be an indoor rooftop pool (like the Hilton-Americas).

Does anyone remember The Happy Buddha on lower Westheimer? They did the chop everything up at the table thing like Benihana. There was a courtyard that had a fake thunderstorm (complete with water, thunder, and lightning) about every thirty minutes? The place burned numerous times in the early to mid 80's. When I was little, I wanted to have my 16th birthday party there. It wasn't really a place for kids, though.

Also, does anyone remember how many Hamburgers by Gourmet there were in Houston? They were amazing. The #10 and some onion rings really hit the spot. I think they had locations in Austin, too. The last one was on Alabama next to The University of St Thomas. They tore it down to build a chapel. I'd rather still have HBG.

Does anyone remember the giant red neon eagle on the bulding? It was, as I recall, at the highest point of the Brewery building and it flapped its wings.
