Wow, I have never seen the continental sign look so blue, pretty wild. How about fixing or tearing down the Holiday Inn on 59/near Kirby. I agree with you all about the Exxon building too. The Moody Towers at UH need a serious face lift.

Houston drivers, especially the ones that don't use signals and just assume they rule the road.

It's ok ilovehouston, you're forgiven, , my malayalam isn't the greatest, it's a hard language to speak. And as far as reading it...I doubt I'll ever learn

Ok....this isn't a mexican station, but it's cool
Thursdays . 3:00pm-5:00pm
on KPFT 90.1 FM
generasian radio...mainly south asian(indian, etc.).
And honestly I'm surprised Houston doesn't have tv stations in other languages like a lot of other cities do.

I don't think I've ever had someone try and sell me anything weird except meat out of their pickup, but when I was a kid and in band..in Georgia we had to sell grapefruit. I knew kids that sold hundreds and hundreds of boxes. These grapefruits were huge too, I think now as an adult, the result of doing so many fund raisers in middle and high school has made me hate selling things in general.

One of the local news stations did a piece a few weeks back on these bars. They had a doctor on it and he said that there is no benefit to these bars. Ok...so these tubes they use...tell me they are new tubes and they discard the used ones...or do they clean and reuse the tubes...

you never get just one there....you get like 5 or 10! The first time I ever visited Chicago, my aunt got us white castle (same size burgers) and ordered 6 a piece for everyone. with all that bread...very filling!!!
I know you don't get one....i just don't think it's all the great...it's all bun accompanied by a thin slice of meat.

Do you think it will survive here? They're small, and not very filling. And we do live in Texas where everything is big. In my opinion I don't see it surviving. And yes, Whataburger rocks....

I agree that a another movie theater downtown would be good for the area. I was in Detroit a few weeks back and I visited this town/suburb nearby called Birmingham. It actually had a really nice downtown, with at least two theaters in their downtown(they didn't show the same movies). I went at night, and people were walking everywhere going to the movies, the cafes, etc. Anyhow, the theater I went to was pretty cool, about 3 stories tall, I just remember taking a few escalators to get upto the theaters.
So if they did bring a theater downtown, would they build a completely new building or would it be possible to use an existing building?

My parents immigrated to the U.S. in 1968. That was a few years after the 1965 Immigration Act. Pretty much the top cities in population in the US are meccas for South Asians. I know New York/Jersey, Chicago, Philly, Detroit are good examples. Dallas has a good population as well. I do know that Atlanta is up and coming, mainly being populated from South Asians from New York/Jersey/Chicago as well as first generation immigrants. I think that's a weather issue . It was for my parents, hehe. My family is scattered around the country, Bakersfield-California, Chicago, Atlanta, Philly, Denver, Oklahoma City, Dallas, DC and Houston.
