  1. Ok, I'm really prejudiced. We live in New Territory and love it, but I know it's hard. We used to live in Brightwater, so I understand the uneasiness with the East side of that area. The neighborhood itself is very nice though.

Do you have a good realtor? Sound to me like that's what you need. I know a realtor heavily involved in the community. Her website is www.movetomorrow.net (if the moderators remove the link just PM me or google 'kathy morrow realtor'). I think having someone who knows everyone (she lives here) really helps. We moved across the street and even that was tricky, but having a neighborhood realtor (wasn't Ms Morrow - there used to be another one) REALLY helped us.

One couple from our neighborhood moved up 99 to Waterside Estates. Supposedly that is very nice. ALso, moving up 1464 Chelsea Harbor is supposed to be nice. Those would both be very current homes and shouldn't require any home improvements. You can use Old Richmond Rd (or West Airport) to move East/West to get to hwy 6 (vastly improved near hwy 90) and avoid that awful 90/99 intersection.

    Good Luck!

  2. You think Grimaldi's is VERY small? I bet there are 30 tables in there!

Sorry..I think I WAS wrong there. I only saw 2 seating areas, but my husband told me later there was another one in the back. I thought there was just an "L" shape around the cooking area, but I guess it's really a "U". I'm kind of claustrophic and the people lining the outer walls probably was what made it feel small to me.

  3. It finally opened? I swear I drove through there just a few weeks ago and they still hadn't broken ground!

You must be looking in the wrong place. It's outside the mall right by the Cheesecake Factory. It's done, but there's no 'real' sign, just a banner hanging on the building. The pizza was good and the prices were reasonable, but the place is VERY small and there's no lobby. By 6:30pm there were a lot of people crammed against the walls waiting for tables (kind of makes you feel pressured while you eat). The waiter was good, but getting the food took forever, but I think they are still working the kinks out.

  4. While New Territory IS divided by the Grand Parkway there are bicycle trails and walking paths that allow residents safe passage. While the median price on the West side is lower than the East side it hosts the Sports Complex and several baseball fields used by all the residents. It doesn't sound like what you are describing at all.

  5. Not to bump an ancient thread, but I noticed they're finally actually building along HI6 on this plot. Seen construction signs for a 9ers Grill, Spring Creek BBQ, and a bank I think. Anyone have more info on this site? Is Olive Garden not happening I guess?

My family LOVES Spring Creek BBQ and we've been taunted by that 'Coming Soon' sign for over a year now! I thought something must have gone wrong, but maybe there is reason to hope again.

  6. Telfair Residents: If any of you DO read this thread, please let me know if there's any kind of neighborhood newsletter or website (NOT the builders sites) for Telfair. I volunteer with the New Territory soccer club and we've never had a good way to communicate with Telfair. If anyone knows of a way we can get the word out please post here and let me know!

    thanks!!

  7. Does anyone know if Telfair has a community website yet? I have googled, but can't find it. Seems like all the other neighborhoods do - I guess maybe it hasn't registered with the search engines yet.

If anyone knows of one, please pass it on!

    thx!

  8. If that's an example of "trying to be positive", I'd hate to see you try to be negative  !

We live in Sugar Land and are thrilled about the possibility of having the Dynamo stadium nearby. Thousands of Sugar Land kids are playing soccer and would love to have the Dynamo as our "home town team".

After driving to/from UofH's stadium to watch them play I would welcome NOT seeing bullet-ridden bus stops along the way! Good luck to Mayor Wallace in pulling this off!

  9. Tried to turn into the Chic-Fil-A at Hwy 6 & 59 (outside the mall) early this morning and there were dumpsters all over the parking lot. The sign was gone and it looked like they were gutting the place. Anyone know what's going on there? There was ALWAYS a huge drive-through line, so I can't imagine there was a lack of business. I need my Biscuit & Diet Dr Pepper fix in the morning!

Hope they're just renovating... but it looked much worse than that!
