Hmmm not quite Citycentre...Hopefully it doesn't end up being a TGI Fridays and 3 nail salons.

CityCentre is around 37 acres while this is 15 acres.

I think it has potential to be a nice addition to the area, but I wouldn't expect it to literally be another Citycentre or Market Street on the same scale as those developments.

Hopefully they sign some decent tenants and restaurants.  290 is lacking.

Anyone know of any neat restaurants that you would like to see in the area? I would put out a request a.s.a.p.!!

This place looks pretty good and the website says "New Willowbrook Location coming soon". I think its near the movie theater somewhere rather than the mall - here's the address - 17505 Highway 249.

I called the Katy location to see if the Willowbrook location was open and they said it would be open in about 2 weeks...

Noticed it too. There's a bit of irony there with the graffitti artists hitting the strip centers.

Locals should put both the strip center developers and the grafitti artists in the town stockade and pummel them with tomatoes.

Or better yet, put them in stockades and spraypaint their faces in the name of art.

I read in the Houston Business Journal that Dick's Sporting Goods is not going forward with the plans to expand to Houston, even though that is shown on this company's flyer. I'm not 100% convinced we're getting a cheesecake factory yet either - though hopefully we will.

They're talking about the MSA, the entire Metropolitan Statistical Area. First, should be no surprise is the Houston Galleria, your guess is as good as mine as to who the second is, but I think it is noteworthy to say that it Willowbrook is and has always been (for over 20 years) one of the top-performing malls in Houston and in the State of Texas.

I'd say they were implying Galleria and Memorial City. But I'll have to check out the official listing of best malls to be sure.

Maybe true, but is that a fact or an opinion? They might as well say "Willowbrook is a really cool mall" or "Check this place out for a new restaurant, dude."

A new Cheesecake factory would be cool though. And if they can add three 8000 sf restaurants with large patios like they show on their website, maybe Willowbrook Mall will be the undisputed 3rd best mall in Houston.

HP still has more than half the campus.

There have been some layoffs, but also they are taking everyone that had an office and squeezing them into cubes - so mainly they are just packing people a lot more tightly into the remaining buildings.
