Correction, looks like this is at 3516 Mount Vernon not 3608

They need to add rail on Washington. Or Memorial. I'd take either

A pool that will never see the sun

They should drop the "district", just River Oaks Garden. It's cleaner

Two new Taco Stands? One on Westheimer and one on Kirby?

If the fenced off area is for parking I will riot

Did they ever release the final design for the quad?

Are we sure it's going to be the Burger joint Taco Stand? I just ate at the Taco Stand in Laguna Beach (https://letstaco.com/) and looked them up. They have a bunch of franchise locations, including one in Dallas
Could this be the one we're getting?
P.S. If Houston got this, would immediately be a top 5 taco place in the city -

I'm surprised the developer didn't lean into the Disco Kroger theme. It's hard to differentiate these cookie cutter apartment buildings but this was a layup

I'll miss those trees. Those fines aren't nearly enough

I take it this means Phase II is a ways out? Will this impact the timeline for the highrise in Phase 1?

I don't know if there is an ordinance or something preventing it ... but I just feel that there is a better way to construct pathways (both pedestrian and cyclist) in this city, as opposed to what some of these recent developments are doing.
You can see the problem in the streetview below — a historical structure of good form w/respect to the bayou banks (while admittedly old and worn out) was completely razed, only to be replaced with a sidewalk that looks more at home in Cinco Ranch (rather than the downtown of America's 4th largest city).
Totally agree with this - those sidewalks are probably more cost efficient. I don't know how the city budgets aesthetic when it comes to sidewalks but I feel like special provisions should be made for historical parts of the city.

Academic Quad Redesign.
I truly cannot put into words how much I despise this plan for the quad. It looks like the Woodlands Church
Can't we just replace the statue and move on? That curved path is offensive

Proposed 1000 unit high-rise at 2711 Main?

My current favorite development in Houston. Reminds me of the gentle density in Brooklyn, Sydney or LA.
Hopefully more developers will be able to use this as a mold
Do we know how many parking spots this will have? Looks like 1 per unit?
