There's a crane that went up north of Memorial in this general area at least a week ago. I was assuming that was for this project. Am I mistaken, or is the article a little behind?
I live next door to this. All they have done thus far is move dirt around.

El Rey on Washington at shepard has good fish tacos, but I would still put berry hill's higher

The archstone? Aren't those 5 or 6 storey apartments over on the north side of I-10? Those are the only ones that I think that are fairly (5-8 years old) new.
No, it's in between heights and studemont on washington. It occupies the entire southern side of Washington on that block. It's relatively new but pretty low end for the neighborhood. It's a huge lot and the space isn't used very efficiently (exclusively surface parking.) Most of the other complexes in the area have much nicer apartments and use their space a lot more efficiently. I hope the redesigned complex allows for some retail along the washington side.

Looks like they "borrowed" a few of the majestic oaks from Fannin/Main near the Museum district. I love it.
I think they're elm trees. I agree though. The area around Rice with all those big trees is maybe the prettiest area in Houston.

Quite good & they have kids plates grandkids love. They have chicken nugets for little ones who are addicted to "dinasour" shapes:). They also offer a few more veggies. Tea is strong, so get lotza ice. There is new BBQ place opening on I-45.....Rudy's?. Its beside the water park.
Does anyone know how close the Rudy's is to completion? That's my favorite BBQ place in Austin and I've never been able to find anything like it in Houston.

I took this pic a few weeks ago. I have the name of the garage written down, but it's at home.
I think that's the new MD Anderson garage on Braeswood south of Holcombe. #4 on this map.

So the garages seem to be replacing parking lots. Anyway, the garages are for TMC employees only, correct?
I don't know who's actually building the garage (the TMC or one of the individual hospitals on their own.) Either way, most of the garages in the med center are open to the public but expensive (~$10/day). That parking lot was an employee only lot though so who knows.

I'm wondering, too. Two large cranes are at the site now.
I forgot I posted this. I walked by a few days later and looked closely. The poster on the side of the site said that it's going to be another parking garage.

One of the park and ride lots at the smithlands light rail stop has been closed off for construction. Does anyone know what project is going on here?

Why would A&M want to play LSU every year? It's an automatic loss on your OOC schedule. Is it going to help their recruiting to get manhandled by the Tigers in Houston each year?

Breaking news...
American Airlines has demanded that it's name be taken off of AA Center, stating that an airline cannot afford the bad press from being associated with a team that "crashes and burns".
In other developments, Dallas Victory, in recognition of the recent flops by the Mavericks, Stars and Cowboys , has announced it will change the name of the development to Loser Lane. House condominium will be renamed Flophouse. While Ghost Bar seriously considered changing its name to Choke Bar, W management announced that it would keep the name Ghost Bar, in honor of Dirk Nowitzski's performance in the playoffs.
Maybe the "W hotel" will become the "L hotel" as well.

From UT - Houston's website
I don't think the Menninger Clinic is likely to be on this block. Aside from the Kroger at OST and Cambridge and the Marine facility, the rest of the block is owned by UT and MD Anderson. Menninger Clinic is a Baylor thing.

These "Premium Outlets" aren't quite the same as the other outlet malls mentioned. They have much higher end brands than your typical outlet mall. My fiancee begs to go the Allen one whenever we're in Dallas to see my family.

I'm getting married in Sugar Land next April and have had a somewhat frustrating time finding a place to have the rehearsal dinner. I went to several places and found the private rooms were either too small or the restaraunt wasn't what I was looking for. I'm thinking of just finding something in Houston, but that's a lot of driving considering the church and everyone's hotel rooms are in Sugar Land.
Can anyone suggest a place with a private room that can hold about 40 people? We were hoping for Italian or seafood, but, if the place is nice, we'd consider other places.

It seems that your posts are a more likely inspiration for that site.
I don't think many people would call Chuy's "authentic" but it is really good food. Honestly, when you try to eat Mexican food outside of Texas, this is the kind of place you miss. I can find plenty authentic food made by Mexican immigrants in Chicago, but none of the overly cheesy, overly spicy Tex-Mex you get at Chuy's.
