We are considering buying a condo in this building. If you have ever stayed or are familiar with this building, please let me know your impressions. We really like the beach on this side of Galveston because it is very quiet.
Any info will be appreciated.

We should have a Forum category for Washington Avenue. A lot is happening to this area and it is becoming hotter and hotter.

The area on Washington and Bonner is being developed very quickly and it is still quite affordable. You can get a nice townhome in the low 200's.

I was told that a high-rise was coming at the corner of Yale and Center St. (next to Washington Av. almost accross from the Social). Has anyone heard about it?

How about the area between Patterson and Yale, north of Washington Ave? Do you think this area has the potential to become as developed as Rice Military?

You can still find older townhomes in this price range. Try HAR.com and search for zip code 77006. Good luck and welcome to Houston.

What is the zip code for this neighborhood?

Thanks Timmy for this information. I have a question for you since you seem to know the area very well, there are some old apartments at the corner of Holman and Mosley. It looks like they were built in 1938 (per HCAD) It is a small complex but it is very dirty and rundown. This is our main concern because the bungalow we are looking at is right behind them, I think it is called Holman Apartments. Do you know if there are plans to restore this building? Is this low income housing? Do you know the story of the building? Sorry for all the questions, I am glad to get information from a long time resident of the area.

yes, I found out this area (Holman/Crawford) is now considered Midtown but years ago it was part of Third ward. When my husband and i went to see the property, we attempted to talk to a neighbor that was outside but he wasn't sober We are new at this real estate investing deal and just want to get input from people that live in the area. Thank you all for the info, pls keep the discussion open.

I am considering an investment property around Crawford and Elgin, in the Third Ward area. It looks like they are already starting to build townhomes but there are still many rundown homes and apartments. I appreciate any info you can give me.

you should check the Museum District. It is one of the nicest areas to live in Houston and it is close to everything.
Anybody Heard Of This Project?
