In case anyone liked Mely's. They do have another location in League City. It's open for as long as I can remember. Bascially 45 South and exit FM518 and make a left. It's just at the intersection where 518 changes to Marina Bay.

If Mely's is closed that is very good news to me. I took my wife there one night and they didn't have our menu item available and when we decided to leave for another place the manage got very aggressive and rude with us. It is all about the service.
If you want a nice little Mexican place in Pearland, I have found Celayas to be wonderful.

Don't diss Mely's. That's my favorite place to eat. I heard that the owner was getting divorced. But I believe that the rent went up too.

My husband is buying a laptop and we both know nothing about what brand is good or what "extras" to buy.
Dell or HP? I would use it for school work(teacher), downloading music, pictures and basic stuff. Nothing too fancy. I don't want to buy more than I need or basicall get screwed.

There seems to be a story with every subdivision. We are looking for a starter home and have noticed that Southdown has resonable priced homes.
I know it can flood anywhere, but has this subdivison flooded regularly? Crime?
Whatever info would help. TIA

There is a great Mexican bakery that is just across Harty street from Canino's produce market. I don't know the name, but it is right next to the little convenience store. Great bakery items. Also, for a great breakfast taco, try Laredo Taqueria at 113 Cavalcade. It is about 1 mile from the Airline Market. They have a buffet type taco line and homemade tortillas. It is in an ugly little center, and I would guess most people would over look it. But those tacos are great! Very tasty!
The bakery is called El Bolio. It is good.

I think I was one of the few that enjoyed Atom and Maria. Atom did take awhile to grow on me.
Building New Home
in Houston Construction, Home Repair, and Improvement
Posted
My husband and I have been back and forth trying to decided whether we should build a home or buy an exsiting. My father in law was kind and gave us a property that is 2 acres and paid in full. He keeps insisting we build there or put a mobile home(not even an option).
We have been been looking online and have visited Tilson homes. Our main concern is having to pay pre-construction while we are paying rent. Tilson said that they would not require us to do a pre-contruction loan, all they would do is take a lein in the property while the home is being built and our first payment would not be until our first morgage payment is due. Which I think is perfect and more affordable for us.
We only know of one person personally that has built with Tilson and were pleased with the service during the whole prcess or any other builder. Looking for any other input, advice, or stories to help us with our decision. We understand that building a home is time comsuming and can be stressful.
