  1. I guess a Category 5 can one day hit and cause tremendous damage to the area........So why is it that people still build and live there? Why do people still live in Florida where hurricanes are plenty, and Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska better known as Tornado Alley. I live in California and we're supposedly due for the big earthquake, but people are still coming here. I'm not saying it can't happen but anything can happen anywhere. For myself I just want to find a nice place where my young family can grow and the people are polite, friendly, enjoys the simple things and come together when needed. (Ok I might be a little naive here!)

    Anyways back to League City,

From reading the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership website, it seams as though League City is growing rapidly with many new home and retail developments. Does anyone know if the Alore IV was ever built on FM1266 and SH96. And also since we've been talking about natural disasters, what is the average people are paying for Flood/Hazard Insurance? And aren't the building codes a lot stricter?

Thanks everyone for your views and opinions.....I really appreciate it. :)

  2. Hi everyone, just wanted to get some opinions on this city.....We really like it and it seems to be growing really fast.... What is the buzz about this city if there is any. I've been reading about many developments going up from the Bay Area Houston website. What is League City's reputation like? How are the surrounding areas? Any info is greatly appreciated.....

  3. Really like South Shore Harbour in League Ciy. Moving from California, area somewhat reminds us of the beach communities here that are unaffordable. we've been keeping up with some of the developments in the area and it seems to be growing. Husband will be commuting to the Baytown area, how is traffic on the I45N and I10E. Also most important to us is schools, we have 3 small children and I am a math teacher so want a really good school for my kids and to work at. Thanks for any info you could give us.

  4. we're actually considering a move to the houston area. we've visited 3 summers in a row to look at some areas and we loved the south shore area in league city/kemah. we're from california and it reminded us a little of home with palm trees and somewhat like a beach community, except affordable. we drove through the neighborhood and people actually waved at us, we were pleasantly surprised, very family friendly neighborhoods. good luck with your search, visit the kemah boardwalk it's a fun place to visit.

  5. My family has visited the Clear Lake area 3 summers in a row and we love it there  . We are considering a move to the League City area. What are your thoughts on this area? We have been following the growth of Clear Lake for awhile and there seems to be many developments. It is a beautiful waterfront community and family friendly neighborhoods which we love. We are only concern about the weather and property tax. (Around 4% where we are looking at).
