  1. Do Walmarts and Targets normally open that close to each other?

ive seen walmarts and target right across from each other.. its pretty dumb.

but my question is why built another walmart if they are going to knock down that old northline mall and built a Super Walmart???

  2. quess what folks.. heres some underground rumors. and they are pretty good sources

i live right in front of the big rice company in the sawyer heights 1s ward.. workers there are getting laid off. rumors are the rice company is moving out near the port of houston.. and guess who is sneaking in like a thief in the night in 2008..... WALMART hahaha

remember.. these are rumors that come from the employees... got to wait see what really happens..

  3. sounds good.. i live 4 blocks away on summer street.. we need grocerys around here.. the neighborhood is doing alot of building... ive seen several homes on summer street.. and i just saw a townhome sign aswell.. im just waiting for them to knock on my door and make me a good offer...haahahah

  4. Just a thought, but I think you might be happier living in The Woodlands.

thanks for the thought.. maybe we can have a nice backyard barbq as soon as they give me $400,000 for this little old house.. ill buy me a new one cash over in the woodlands... B) ill take the fajitas and the sirloin steak..

Most people in The Heights have never even eaten at a chain.

theres tons of chain resturants in the heights.. theres a mcdonalds, taco bell, KFC, pizza hut, jack in the box, whataburger, churche's,burger king, subway, dominoes pizza, quiznos, popeyes.. they are all there..

  5. Except they're not open 24 hours <_<

yeah true.. but some are open 24 hours... like the meyerland, galleria, voss, san jancinto, gulf freeway.. it all depends... on the club location itself..

it would be nice to have a movie theater, a supermarket, applebess or chillis, and a 24 hour fitness, and a typical starbucks.... in this Sawyer Heights Village.. that would bring in BIG crowds because theres nothing of that kind in this area.. trust me. i live 4 blocks away..

i have to travel all the way to 45 & west road for a walmart, to 610 & post oak for a gym, to 11 st and sheperd for nearest supermarket, to 290 and dacoma for a chillis or benigans, to south shepard and west gray for a starbucks.and ect.....

  6. That is great news, and I appreciate the insiders view point. That area has interested me for a couple of years. That was part of my point is that this area is seeing some nice new builds and renovations. I hope it continues, but I don't know how much of a factor the train and industrial space will be.

Do you plan on staying or will you collect your investment and laugh happily to the bank?

well ill probably sell and buy in the area.. depending on the types of homes/condos/or town homes they are going to build.. i love this area especially with all of these new renovations and the new target.. and supposely i heard a rumor while working out at 24 hour fitness that they plan to open a gym near the area..

Really where about exactly do you live. My family still know several families living in the area we moved out in '89. We lived where the Crocket parking lot/ play area is at.

Hold on to your place for the big payout >:)

thats what i plan to do.. i live on summer in front of the big rice company.. we remodeled the entire house.. lets see if i get more bucks.. hahahaha

  7. I also live in the Lindale park area and I do think that is a good idea because really there are no places of any convenience to shop. The only Wal-mart that is around is on 45 at West road and that place is a nightmare, overcrowded, poorly maintained and usually understocked. And forget finding a Target or a decent grocery store close by.I like you will take what I can get. I see anything as an improvement.

HELLOOOOOO.....Is it me or nobody has noticed that they just bought a HUGE land on Taylor street near the heights and just finished building a new Target. they are also going to make a bike trail and a bunch of restuarants and retails stores including 2 banks..?? and its only like 3-4 miles from northline

heres the link...Sawyer Heights Village Target

  8. I can imagine! Years of being right near all that industry and train tracks. I think for those reasons, this area will never become (or it will take a long time) "nice".

well i live in the area..i own a house on summer... been here since 1990... i havent grown another pair of eyes or ears yet... hahahah. im seeing all these town homes getting built.. i think ive seen like 6 completed and 5 getting built as you read this.. HHN Homes just grabbed some land behind the brewery where an art gallery/museum use to be..and i saw some moving trucks the other day.. crockett street have already cleared a piece of land where some town homes or condos are going to be built near washigton... i give it another year before someone knocks on my door to purchase my house.. i live like 4 blocks from the new target.. woo hoo..

  9. You are right...they said they are currently constructing a 24 Hour fitness and it should be ready around July of this year. They said it is on top of an already existing building so I am not sure where they are talking about.

well i feel pretty darn lucky.. i own a property about 3 blocks away from the new target.. im just waiting for someone to knock on my door and give me a gooooooood offer..hahaha

just yesterday i went to work out at 24 hour fitness and one of the employeee told me the same thing.. it would be nice to have a 24 hour fitness around the area....
