Wow, I looked up the above link for the Pavilions. It looks mighty nice. Anything to help the ghosttown that is downtown would be great.

Having seen many great cities, I wasn't impressed with Houston when I moved (for a job). I once read a description of the city as the biggest smalltown in the US (by locals) and I thought that was fairly accurate. Since I plan to stay for awhile, I wanted reassurance that Houston is more than that. I thought there must be SOMETHING in here. And I guess the photos in this forum provided a lot of those things. You and all the photo contributors here revealed the hidden beauty of the city and I'm starting to warm up to it. I'm still exploring. Thanks again.

I'm (almost) new to Houston (7 months) and these pictures have comforted me quite a bit. Excellent work, Montrose.

Bank of America has an edgy character. It's my favorite.

I was waiting to find out the most commonly misspelled word in the English language!
I think it's mispelled. (oops, there it is, i just added to the statistic).

I'm Asian and first came to US for a job in New York, where I lived for 6 years. I loved it there but as the previous post suggested, the weather was a big factor why I decided to eventually move to Houston. I hope I am welcome.
What does HAIF mean to you?

HAIF was my sole source of information for neighborhood and house-hunting when I moved here 2 years ago. My realtor was amazed how much I knew about Houston before actually moving! At first it was perplexing to me that an "architecture-based" site would give me all info I needed to find my place. But boy was I glad to have come across it! Thanks to all the great minds here. I love the photos too. :-)
