  1. thank yal for the info. i guess i read too many true crime books, i always read the ones that happen in houston, especially if it was near my old neioghborhoods. i still wonder what happened to the houses from the zabolio-duff smith murders, susan white house, issac payton sweats house, the campbell house, and we all know the hill mansion is vacant again.houston is so full of homicide history.

  2. I remember the Champs places. Worked at the one on 290 and Bingle, and the I45 and Dyna. Used to go eat at Jojos. they had good steaks. Pizza Inn ( i think it was off bingle) had a good buffet. Sals pizza off 290 was good too. I would get hamburgers at Charlies. The Del Taco somewhere near Dacoma and Mangum area were good fast food.Used to eat at Lubys on 290 at Grow lane. So many good food places have come and gone.

  3. ive read both books on this case. i have never seen the house. i started a thread eariler about homicide homes and had no respones yet. i hope that both these people are still locked up. they were crazy.it seemed like houston had a load of homicides that produced true crime books during the 80s. maybe someone out there has info on the houses and will post pictures and updates on these properties. i to am curious about these homes. i love the true crime stuff.

  4. oh yes.Always woke up to moby.I had a delivery route and would load up my pinto and take off driving and singing to mobys songs. The mailman song and the morning astrology guide were my favorites. moby was always making fun of someone especially michael pollard and mayor whitmire. Boy i miss those days.klol was the good station too. i still have some t shirts and bumper stickers somewhere. the good o;d days of houston.

  5. does anyone ever wonder whats happens to the homes where people were killed in? are people living in them now and do they know that someone died in it? when i read the true crime books, they tell about the homes but no one ever mentions if these places were tore down or sold to someone who doesnt know the background on it. just curious.

  6. used to go to alot of the clubs. always liked fools gold, cow hop, the club in the barbary coast apartments. blancos and this really cool place in montrose but i can not remember the name. there was always a place to go to after work to unwind. houston had descent bars and today because of health problems cant drink and party anymore but have good memories of these places.

  7. i remember seeing joan when i was a little girl, my dad took us to her horse shows. the saddest day for me was march 19,1969. the day she died was also my 13th birthday.i think about her every year and wonder what houston would be like if she still ran river oaks. whatever happened to her things( trophies, pictures)? one thing that i always thought about was if she was ashs real daughter and some woman, did her birth mother ever have any more children? did joan have some brothers and sisters out there? i havent been able to watch behind mansion walls cause i dont have cable and you tube or id website just wont let you watch it. i hope robert hill is happy and doing good in life. he has been put thru so much. read both books and tommys was the best. anns was a total joke. she did a good job of playing a innocent victum. shes probaly in hell with john hill now.
