  1. The Fuddruckers was supposed to be built in front of the LA Fitness. I have since read on one of the city's permitting sites, that the project has been closed. I didn't see any reason, but I would assume it was funding. I think that restaurant would do well in Mo City, especially since the closest one is in Stafford.

  2. New York Pizzeria has opened up in the same strip mall opposite Schlotsky's. It is much larger than the one located in Sugar Land. (Near New Territory)

The old Krispy Kreme restaurant is also currently being renovated to an Arby's. I also saw in the latest Mo City city council agenda, the old Applebee's restaurant is being renovated to a Buffalo Wild Wings. It's nice to see the empty retail being filled...

Are they planning on shutting down the current Mo City Walmart if they build the new one down by Sienna? That would be difficult place to redevelop...

  3. Lake Pointe Update

In addition to the Panda Express...

They just put up a "Now Hiring" sign for a Buffalo Wild Wings, I believe it will be in the building behind Panda Express. Also noticed the frame is up on a Raising Canes at Fluor Daniel Dr and Highway 6. It looks like the foundation is laid on the Whole Foods... they are done with most of the dirt work, I think. Almost finished two banks in the complex, but not ones that I am familiar with. The St Lukes hospital is fenced in and they have started pushing dirt around.

  4. I tried it last weekend and it fits very well in the Square. It is a casual sit down restaurant with a bar. We had their signature fish sandwich and fish tacos... They were both pretty good. The prices weren't bad and the atmosphere was nice. They added the outdoor patio area also, so it adds some life to the sidewalks.

I don't know much about Amici's other than what I saw in one of those Fort Bend magazines I get in the mail frequently. It looks like a couple of relatively well known restaurant guys are starting this upscale italian restaurant with outdoor seating as well. It sounded like a menu similar to Pregos in Rice Village.

On a side note, I have also tried both of the new "express" restaurants across from the new mall expansion, Salsaritas and Wolfgang Puck Express. They are both very good and inexpensive. I am big fan of Cafe Express, but I think Wolfgang is quite a bit better. Salsaritas is a burrito place similar to Chipotle, but has more options and is less expensive. Salsaritas is the closest I have found to Freebirds... too bad it is rarely crowded.

  5. Grotto would be nice in the FC Mall restaurant plaza. Do they have plans to open any other locations in Houston? I noticed they closed the Woodway location after they opened the Galleria Restaurant.

I would like to see Escalante's in Town Square. I am somewhat surprised they have not opened one already. It seems that Cafe Express and Escalantes are located in close proximity to each other all over town.

I wouldn't mind a Denis' Seafood, Red Lobster just doesn't cut it. I did notice they are getting a Fish City Grill in Town Square, but it sounds like it will be a little bit more casual and semi fast food.

And last but not least, FreeBirds.

  6. I recently heard that Lupe Tortilla is going in at this site.  Can anyone confirm that this is the site of BJs or Lupe?  Maybe Lupe is on one of the opposite corners.

New here... pretty cool site. Anyway...

Ya, BJ's is going in off hwy 6 and Lupe's is going in around the corner on the feeder road. There is a new strip center going in on the corner of 59 and hwy 6, but I am not sure what is going in there.
