That's all of them.

Much credit to 254Texas for having an extensive photo library of Downtown Houston. So far, the most pictures of DT here at HAIF.

Here's a really rough update adding the Hines building and just for fun I threw in a filler building basically in the location of the Stream/Linbeck tower.  If Lockmat would like to provide me with a teaser look again I could draw something up a little closer but I also don't want to get him in trouble.

Edited to include 5 Allen Center as per Urbannizer's post.  I didn't include it because it seems pretty unlikely to happen at this point (my opinion) But it could at least be included in this fantasy portrayal anyway.

I like the updated skyline picture with Five Allen Center covering Three Allen Center. The blue with all the other new glass buildings gives the skyline a more modern feel. Linbeck's building looks goofy over there all by itself though.

So awesome! This skyline is just begging for a supertall, a crown jewel of some sort.

great job! thanks for making this.. i suck at photoshop and was curious how the new towers would effect the skyline.

any chance you could make the Hines tower taller to reflect the new supposed official height? also IMO the new Chevron tower may be a little short since according to the renders its about equivalent in height to a 58 story building if you count each floor and consider the double high floors as 2 stories.

alright, now that the International Tower rendering has leaked this REALLY needs to be updated. all these new towers are getting me excited.

woooo... thank you! did the Hines tower ever get extended after they announced the 49 story redesign? or are you waiting until more "official" information comes out?

Here is a very crude attempt at updating this with what we have for the International tower.

I love how awful the original quality of this picture is before the photoshopped additions. As grainy as all the existing buildings are, the whole thing looks like it is photoshopped together haha

If I use another picture and start over will you forgive me??

Haha, the idea was just to see how the skyline would look with the proposed buildings. You did great.

Thanks, I was thinking it might be worth doing something from the north where you could basically see all of these minus the Chevron building.

I, for one, would like to see the southeast view from the Gulf freeway. Our skyline looks far denser from that angle...

that would actually be fantastic. like from 59 driving south, just north of downtown? then you could include the Marriott Marquis too. (this is a terrible photo btw, im not proposing you use this one, just an example of the angle)

thats one of my favorite angles as well, due to the density like you say, but i just checked out some pictures i have from that angle and i dont think you would be able to see much of anything except the new Chevron tower from that angle, and Marriott Marquis. it seems like Hines tower would barely stick out, and the International Tower would be almost completely blocked off?

So many blue glass high rises! Architects need to diversify their photoshop painting skills!

lol, people used to always complain about Houstons boring beige boxes. now i guess it will be the "boring blue glass towers".

I agree with TowerSpotter, it looks great. I'm awful with photoshop so I'm not dogging you in the least. I just love how rough the original actual image was to begin with.

Don't worry I was just giving you a hard time.

I'm having trouble finding a quality up to date picture of downtown from the N/NE so if anyone has one out there I'd be happy to do another version if you can provide a good base picture.

if only this car werent in the picture...

8592944713_f7eb69eb37_b.jpg

heres an alright one if you cropped out the highway. OLD though, dated May 2001. it would need some work to be updated.. 1500 Louisiana is in the distance being topped off. Missing BG of course and all the activity around Discovery Green, if you were planning on putting the Marriott Marquis in the shot.

i10e_downtown_looking_w_22-may-2001_hres

heres a good north east angle where you might be able to include the Marriott with Hines and International Tower. will Skanksas tower be visible from this angle (i know its rather "short"), not sure if it would be behind one of the taller buildings or not.

I find it pretty awesome that you can see the Williams Tower in this shot.

Thats funny. I don't live in Houston, I live on the outskirts of Houston so I'm not really familiar with the skyline too much, but when I drive through some parts of the city I end up seeing buildings that I thought were on the other side of 59 into the museum district but end up being on the opposite side.

I originally posted a "What-if" version of the skyline featuring the 609 Main tower in that thread, but have been adding to the original model I saved in Sketchup.

These screen shots include 609 Main, Chevron, Skyhouse, International Tower, Capitol Tower, Marriott Marquis, Five Allen Center and the pair of new hotels planned for the Convention Center area. The proportions are based on tips and information from the posts on this site.

Here we go...

Well done Channel2...I was going to do something similar but it looks like you covered it for me.

Here is a before and after shot using one of the photos cloud713 provided.

The perspectives don't exactly line up correctly and I had to try and compensate despite buildings being flipped around but hopefully this gives another idea to the possibility for the future.

I realized I could squeeze in the Chevron building too...but for whatever reason I can't edit my post.  Am I the only one having this issue right now?

Anyway, not trying to pump my post count up...but here's the updated shot.
