VicMan
I think Pearland ISD and Alvin ISD should merge into one district so that there is one four-high school district.
brerrabbit
No way Pearland and Alvin should merge. The Alvin district is huge and at times underfunded because of being so spread out. Pearland is growing so fast that we cannot keep up either. This bond passed but only because the school board chose to run the election seperate of the general election to get it passed. It cost about $60,000 extra to do it that way but the School Board thought it was worth it to assure passage. The Alvin district goes south almost to Angleton and north to include Shadow Creek Ranch. Alvin school busses come al the way up 35 to about a mile south of Pearland high school to pick up students because believe it or not their boundries extend that far into the Pearland city limits. Merger would be a bad idea.
