Jax
I just figured out how to add the One Park Place 3D model to Google Earth! http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/det...2882a44b397b90d
Jax
One Park Place as of yesterday (right side). It's now taller than the brownish building next to it. Looks like about 3 more floors than the last one I posted at the beginning of Jan. Edited February 2, 2008 by Jax
HtownWxBoy
It's coming along nicely... they are starting to add some of the windows.
Jax
This is actually the same shot as before but cropped differently so you can see One Park Place better. I forgot when I uploaded the other one that the size is reduced so you can't zoom in... Edited February 4, 2008 by Jax
Jax
Yet another photo of One Park Place.
HtownWxBoy
It's getting up there in height... it looked great as I drove southbound on the Pierce Elevated to work this afternoon.
mls1202
At what point do they begin the bricking of the exterior? And is this actual brick by brick laying, or is it more prefabricated brick "blocks" consisting of hundreds of little brick patterns? And it won't be brick by brick. That would be insane. It will likely be some sort of prefab method.
GovernorAggie
It's getting up there in height... it looked great as I drove southbound on the Pierce Elevated to work this afternoon. It was cool being able to see the lights from 1PP on the Gulf Freeway inbound last night. It really is beginning to make a mark on the skyline! It, Discovery Tower, MainPlace, 6HC, La Quinta, and Embassy Suites will make a nice impression on that side for skyline shots...especially from 59. totheskies
Gotta love the Finger companies... always injecting that type of old school quality. Of course it's gonna be real brick... remember the museum tower (http://www.themuseumtower.com/home.html)? This seems to be a modified, larger scale version of that project. ricco67
Some photos from today and a couple of days ago. one of the pics, as you can see shows a few stacks of bricks on the scaffolding.
Jax
I took a few photos this weekend, and you can see the windows going in.
mls1202
Just curious, but do they spray any type of sound insulating foam on the ceiling/floors? I live in a high rise (13 story) in Russia where the concrete slabs merely have plaster applied to them. You can hear people's conversations! King Owl
I'm a big fan of the color of brick used on this. It matches Minute Maid Park, the Inn at the Ballpark and Vic and Anthony's very nicely. This building is really going to be a nice addition to downtown and will set a great stage for the new park. GovernorAggie
I agree with the color of brick. The mixture of it and the glass serves the area well--not to mention the height. Coming from Rockets games, it's neat to hear people's reactions (if any) to both 1PP and Discovery Green.

Houston19514
Who owns the empty lot next to One Park Place? Could there be a Two Park Place in the future? When One Park Place was announced, the media told us that Finger had contractual control of an adjoining block for a possible additional tower. Someone here on HAIF has told us that cannot be true.
