Last time I was at the Original Ninfa's on Navigation, they didn't have the deep fried chocolate banana in the pastry shell w/ the ice cream. Not sure how long ago it happened, but how that "disappeared" from their dessert menu is beyond me.

por favor gracias
To each his own, but I can't comment since I've never had those sopapillas from Panchos. This is the only picture I could find of what they once called the chocolate banana at Ninfas, but it's different than I remember and it doesn't do it justice. It used to come with whip cream and vanilla ice cream and chocolate both melted inside the empanada w/ the banana and drizzled on top of the empanada.

Twinsanity02
Is phase three just east of the Hanover high rise? There is a large barren lot there.
Skyboxdweller
NOPE. It's south of the two HANOVER buildings and is a deep but narrower lot. One of those jenga block high rises would look great there and keep the views from the two Hanover buildings from being blocked. I'm not sure who owns the other vacant lot that is next to our park bench. All in all, its been slow going with this development. Over a decade and three major blocks and two smaller development sites ( on the south and west of the Whole Foods c complex) still vacant. richfish
Love the white marble covering the 2nd/3rd floors. Looks really posh in person, and is such a striking change from all the typical concrete podiums. This is how to hide a parking garage.

Popular Post Highrise Tower
Went to visit today. Had a million questions for the front desk. A Hanover staff member was in the office and overheard my conversation. As she was leaving for the day she approached me asking if I would like a showing.. mentioned I'd like to see a 1 bedroom, but my girlfriend wants me to look at 2 bedrooms. Said she'll show me both! Obviously, I think, both of us know I couldn't afford this. She was just showing me around, since I was so intrigued. mattyt36
How common is it for these new apartments to charge monthly amenity fees?
SkylineView
The amenity thing is a relatively new addition to Houston. Some of the newer apartments / the ones with really nice pools & cabanas charge them. My wife and I (which live/ have lived in Houston high rises with and without the fees) call it the "cabana charge". If you see cabanas... there's probably an amenity fee.

gene
Went to Ninfa's at 5pm last night! They have a Happy Hour Menu from 3pm to 6pm that includes about 10 appetizers and some drinks. Their chips with salsa and green dip were just as good as always and I went ahead and just ordered off the regular menu...beautiful large bar area and plenty of seating indoors and out as you can see from previous photos. The place was busy but not jam packed so it was perfect and we got a seat at the bar no problem at all...and there didn't seem to be a wait for a table when we left at 630pm although all tables seemed filled. Super smooth opening in my opinion!
