beparr
What is happening in the far right foreground where it's fenced off and there are a couple of piles of rubble? I know Astoria is on the left but don't know about right side.

I know Astoria is on the left but don't know about right side. That is the remnants of the 24 hour fitness. The site is being prepped for BHP Billiton's new building. cloud713
BLVD Place once had plans for a 55 story tower? that would of made a huge impact on the uptown skyline.. bummer the economy crashed. any chance it could still be one of the other towers in plans (obviously the floor plates dont match up, but i doubt ALL the other towers are all going to be rectangles)? they want to have ~1,000 residential units in the development, and Hanover and Landmark tower wouldnt be enough units to meet that target. "Boulevard Place, Houston, Texas Fifty-five (55) story 638’-8” tall residential flat plate post tension structure, shear wall/outrigger brace- wall system with a 565 car garage approximately 875,424 GSF"
Montrose1100
Great view... skylineview! Blvd. Place looks clean and sleek. The angle from the corner of San Felipe @ Westheimer is amazing. Wonderful project, with room to possibly grow (upwards).

TowerSpotter
Apache tower mentioned on Bisnow, saying the are being worked on. http://www.bisnow.com/commercial-real-estate/houston/the-future-of-uptown/ Cushman & Wakefield executive vice chairman Tim Relyea (here to the right of Harvey's Joe Cleary) says Uptown's greatest challenge is itsproduct age and supply constraints—it's in danger of being a feeder market to Downtown and West Houston. Companies in the submarket want to stay, but they also want state-of-the-art facilities, which is forcing some to relocate. (Tim reps BG Group and says it would've stayed in the Galleria if there was a cutting-edge building for it to go to.) He believes the market needs to get some new product in the ground tostay relevant. Tim represents two companies who are sticking around through new development, Apache and BHP Billiton. Houston19514
Apache may not build in blvd place?? I hope they don't back out, though I suppose I wouldn't be opposed if it was for a taller building downtown.. Heh I like your thinking. It would be a win-win if one of the proposed downtown towers could snag the Apache headquarters and Blvd Place could revert to a plan more similar to the original (without the retail break between phase 1 and phase 2 that would be (would have been?) caused by the insertion of the Apache tower in the middle of the development. Having said that, it would be a pretty surprising turn of events for Apache to not build at the Blvd Place site, given that they (Apache) bought the acreage last year. cloud713
Here's what's going up instead If Apache's tower:http://blvdplace.com/news/Houston%20Chronicle-37%20Story%20Building%20to%20Soar.pdf according to BLVD Place's website, Landmark Tower is planned to go in the northwest corner of the property. Apaches plot of land is more on the southeast side. I like your thinking. Having said that, it would be a pretty surprising turn of events for Apache to not build at the Blvd Place site, given that they (Apache) bought the acreage last year.haha, exactly.. Apache being the lead tenant for International Tower or something of the likes? agreed, it would be a win win. i always thought it was kind of odd that they sold Apache a portion of the property right between the existing and future retail centers. cloud713
Don't say that Larry! Didn't they inherit the mariner site when they bought them, before selling it off? Granted it was on beltway west, not in the energy corridor. I really hope they stay within uptown or downtown unless it's to build a signature Williams tower esque building for another of our skylines.
