Next year’s Houston Open, which will be looking for a new title sponsor, will be televised on the Golf Channel (first two rounds) and on NBC (final rounds).

A move to the spring will increase the money payout. The purse will be $9.1 million in 2024, up from $8.4 million in 2022. The purse will escalate every year.

The Houston Open will not be played in 2023 because of its move to late March next year."

This is a good result.  There were murmurs about the PGA dumping the Houston Open in order to make way for a series of big money events in the fall intended to compete with LIV.  And two weeks before the Masters will mean that a lot of the top players will show up in order to fine tune for the Masters.  

The Woodlands is hosting the Chevron LPGA Championship and the Insperity Invitational for the senior tour the third and fourth weekends in April.  That is pretty good for a city that is not a resort area like spots in FL, CA, AZ, etc.

ABC13 has learned the deal is worth $13 million per year."
