English-as-a-second-language instructor Frank Macias, who owns Progresso Learning Academy, closed on the six-story building at 11947 North Freeway last month, according to NewQuest Properties’ John Nguyen, who represented the seller, Contender Two LLC. A Los Angeles-based company registered Contender Two LLC last year, according to online Texas business directories. Nguyen only said that it is a hospitality company that has changed its plans of relocating to Houston. The limited liability company had owned the building since May 2022, according to the Harris County Appraisal District.
