Coulam has been putting on the festival for almost fifty years, and I believe he's in his mid-eighties now, so it wouldn't be entirely surprising if he's decided to retire. A new developer could really make this festival a lot larger; adding attractions, adding a small town center with the same aesthetics. I'm concerned they may try to turn this into the equivalent of an amusement park, with rides and other things that are uncharacteristic of the festival itself.
