TowerSpotter
This is like 40-50 floors, also where is it located?
TowerSpotter
Oh I thought it was a W too, who cares this is precious.
swtsig
Definitely an interesting design. Looks like it's on san Felipe just inside the loop based on those renderings.
monarch
Does anyone know the significance of EPSILON? Could this by chance be a W brand? This profound edifice looks like something derived from the "Jetsons".....
cloud713
WOAH! like tower spotter said.. this is 40 or so stories on top of the podium. this tower could/will probably break 600'. Edited October 22, 2013 by cloud713
fatesdisastr
Something about the color in the renderings make it look cheesy and childish to me
TowerSpotter
Wouldn't this break a record for being the tallest hotel in Houston?
Triton
Is this rendering somewhere else on the web? Edit: I mean, if I may ask, what's the source? Edited October 22, 2013 by Triton

fernz
Looks to me like something that belongs in the Memorial City complex. I can imagine it with blue lights at the top.
King Owl
Is that the rendering of the old W hotel that was rumored during the last cycle (2008)? Looks about in the same spot Epsilon is the letter W on its side...
lockmat
In the first rendering in the background is a med center tower and then downtown. Makes me believe this is off 59.
Subdude
Is it not a generic background, like with the Texaco proposal? With the buildings shown I honestly can't place it.
Random
The use of epsilon and the teist on the W logo makes this look like an architecture student's project. Possibly a rendering of a "nice to have", but unlikely to be built project.
lockmat
These are the two buildings in background of one of the renderings, so it looks like it's the Westcreek site. However, if that's true, it sure seems like they have the med center/downtown background orientation wrong in the other one.
swtsig
pretty sure you're confusing med center with greenway plaza, lockmat. pretty obvious that this is the westcreek site due to the vantage point in the 2nd rendering showing 1900 and 2000 WLS with Post Oak Central peeking out behind. regardless, this definitely does NOT look like anything more than a conceptual design. agree with whoever said it looks like it belongs in memorial city - the architecture is very cheesy and leaves a lot to be desired. that said, i think we'll be hearing of at least a few as of now unannounced hotel/resi developments in the not too distant future.
cloud713
ahh.. so its the westcreek redevelopment site.. the only problem with that is the 3 apartment buildings that are still being rented out. hopefully they follow the way of the rest of the complex and get sold off soon so this baby can get developed
arche_757
I see a lot of people love this because it is "tall" but I for one will go out on a limb and say it: This is an ugly looking building. Ugly. Looks like it belongs in Macau

Westcreek for sure but that is without a doubt St. Luke's on the left in the first rendering. You can't tell unless you zoom in. Good to hear about the future developments

Ugly. Looks like it belongs in Macau Well it is a bit exuberant, but there's no harm to that in manageable doses. At least it's not fake beige stucco. I do think the location makes sense for a high-profile hotel. I'm guessing the "Hotel Epsilon" name is really just a placeholder.

Urbannizer
Swstig is right, this one is not a proposal. Sorry guys. Good morning ******, First of all, thanks for visiting our website and showing your interest in our renderings. The renderings of W Hotel in Houston were for a conceptual design by a local architectural firm. They were working with some investors on the feasibility study of the site.

MikeRichardson
After demolishing the B and D buildings, you get a narrow tract of land, sandwiched between Westcreek Ln and the Target. These renderings only make sense if the developers intend to purchase and demolish the Target as well.

Thank goodness Urbannizer, that thing would have rivaled the I-10 Memorial Hermann Robot Tower for the ugliest in the Houston area in my opinion.
ArchFan
While I would love to see a new (post 1980s) hotel in this area, I would rather not see that design realized. Apologies to Angola, but that rendering seems to shout "Look at us, we're Luanda!". Actually, the Ryugyong Hotel in North Korea looks better!
