In place of the original Quality Feed will be a housing development by Houston-based nonprofit Avenue, which has several multi-income housing projects in the Near Northside. Plans for the land have not been finalized as Avenue seeks funding for the project, according to Darla Berry,  the nonprofit's vice president for development and communications.

I was there just the other day! It is a wonderful location and I hope there can be a favorable outcome for everyone involved. I hope we can get some traction on rapid transit and traffic calming/multi modal on main; it's too many lanes way too fast.

Man, Nextdoor absolutely lost their minds about this a few weeks ago

Yeah, that was pretty hilarious. Even after it was common knowledge that the owners of the place had sold the property years ago. Those are the threads that sometimes make me despair for the future of this country.

I am convinced that Nextdoor's primary purpose is to give a voice to the people who seeThe Stepford Wives as aspirational.

I have been known to call certain subdivisions "Stepford Pointe". Sadly, the people who live in those areas don't get the joke at all.

"Longtime owner Ken Cousino believes the new building will have the same staying power for even the next century to come. Next month, Quality Feed and Garden will move from its longtime home at 4428 N. Main St. on the eastern edge of the Heights to a new spot in the Near Northside about four miles away."

Went down a rabbit hole and found this about District H housing projects in the pipeline. They are calling it "Las Brisas".
