I could have sworn this already had a thread but could not find it. This warehouse will be converted into a bar. Apparently it's already under way per houstonculturemap, slated to be completed by this fall. I attached link for all the details.

An update on Heights Social from Community Impact yesterday:

"Heights Social, a concept by Houston bar owner Zach Harris—located next door to his other venue Drift Bar—is slated to open in December at 1213 W. 20th St., Houston."

From the Leader last month:

"A new bar is planning to open its doors in the Heights sometime next month (December)."

"Heights Social, the brainchild of owner Zach Harris, will open at 1213 W. 20th St. the Heights in December, according to the bar’s Instagram page. It will open next to Harris’ other concept, Drift Bar."

In an Instagram post last week, Heights Social responded to a question regarding an opening date. The restaurant and bar is anticipating opening its doors to the public in January.

Heights Social is a new food and beverage concept from Zach Harris of Drift Bar. It will be located at 1213 W 20th St in Shady Acres.

Snapshot of Heights Social from October. The photo is from the forum Heights Buzz.

Heights Buzz a forum similar to HAIF but exclusively about the Greater Heights area. Judging by photos and content posted there, the site's administrator is either a HAIF member or frequent visitor.

Heights Social is a new food and beverage concept from the mind behind Drift Bar. It's located at 1213 W 20th St in Shady Acres.

Sometime this week, Heights Social updated the estimated opening in its Instagram bio.

The brunch-forward restaurant anticipates opening in February.

Even though these new buildings are nice, why is this view still ugly? Maybe the lack of landscape?

I think it's also a lack of infrastructure. Proper drainage and nice wide sidewalks would go a long way in improving the aesthetic.

The sidewalk in front of Heights Social is fine. This is just an ugly, cheap looking building from the outside.

But that's also exacerbated by its immediate neighbors. This is perfectly fine infill, but its best neighbor is that awful bar with its unspeakable name.

To me, it's more the fact that the parking lot is bigger than the actual building. In 100% of instances where that is the case, I find the building ugly.
