trymahjong
Got this in Neartown/ Montrose newsletter Council Redistricting town halls and district CIP meetings have been scheduled. The City begins public engagement on Council redistricting. The City Planning Department has announced the process the City will follow to adopt new City Council district boundaries based on information from the 2020 US Census. There will be multiple opportunities for public comment, beginning with town hall meetings. Each City Council district will host a town hall meeting to explain the redistricting process, and to allow the public to give input to the City on how they want their district to look in the future. Capital Improvement Project (CIP) meetings will follow the Redistricting town halls. Anyone can attend any Redistricting meeting, but Capital Improvement Project updates are specific to the district in which the meeting is held. Our Council Member Abbie Kamin's District C Redistricting town hall and CIP meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, 6:00 pm at Congregation Emanu El, 1500 Sunset Blvd., 77005. wilcal
Saw this the other day. District C (and G) are well over the average population for a city council district. I wonder how it might get shaved down.
trymahjong
From District C newsletter received today : Council will soon be considering the final proposed redistricting plan for the City, including District C’s new boundaries starting in 2024. I so appreciate all of the residents who have spoken out and submitted comments thus far. You can see the latest proposed map by going to www.letstalkhouston.org/redistricting. Regardless of where in the District you live, it continues to be a privilege to serve all 240,000+ residents!
