Gordon Food Services out of Michigan bought Houston based Glazier Food Service several years ago. Gordon Food Service Store has grocery stores that sells to individuals. They primarily sell to restaurants and institutions but have created these stores for individuals too. They have 2 stores opening in Houston and League City. They took over the Glazier distribution warehouse on the BW 8  north loop.

"Gordon Food Service, one of the nation’s largest privately held food-service distributors, plans to open six grocery stores as it enters the Houston market.

The stores will serve local restaurants buying in bulk as well as customers planning tonight's dinner and don't require a membership.

Four stores will open Tuesday at FM 1960 West at Stuebner Airline Road in the Champions area, Westheimer at Dairy Ashford in west Houston, Mason Road at Kingsland Boulevard in Katy, and at West Main and Highway 3 in League City. Two more will follow in the coming months at Antoine and Pinemont in northwest Houston and North Braeswood Boulevard at Chimney Rock in the Meyerland area.

Each store, ranging from 25,000 to 30,000 square feet, will employ about 40 people, including full- and part-time positions, according to Gordon Food Service."

I've read now hiring signs are up on the Meyerland location, formerly Beldon's.  The interior shot looks more inviting for individual shoppers than I expected and I welcome the curbside delivery.  Discussions on Next Door have not been very hopeful that it'll be something that really benefits the neighborhood residents.
