ChannelTwoNews Posted July 22, 2022 Share Posted July 22, 2022 While I was aware the Grand Parkway Segment C alignment was slated to pass through the area, I wasn't aware of the plans to have the Fort Bend Tollway extended for an intersection nearby as well. There's been debate on where to place it. The map above shows where Signorelli wants it to run. The county's largest landowner, The George Foundation, wants it to run further north. Initially, the proposed intersection was placed on property owned by the George Foundation. Last December, the intersection was shifted to land owned by Signorelli for Austin Point. This graphic from a KPRC segment back in April on the issue shows the potential alignments. The Chronicle had a good overview of the whole debate back in January. About 3 weeks ago, the County Judge sent a letter to TXDOT on behalf of the Commissioners' Court to begin expediting construction of the remainder of the Fort Bend segment Grand Parkway. strickn Posted September 21, 2023 Share Posted September 21, 2023 I believe the historic George Ranch park visitors center and living museum is the little jaggedy notch at the top of the picture reposted by ChannelTwoNews. That Signorelli wants a small town atmosphere with nothing to do with that...?
