hindesky
Anyone know what is being built here? Was the River Oaks Kingdom Hall. Zero signs posted as to what was being built. It's behind the Montrose Target on Westheimer and S.Shepherd and Starbucks facing S. Shepherd.

The property is owned by the Hyde Park Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, and was replatted from Lots 11, 12, 13, 14 Melrose Place to RES A BLK 1 HYDE PARK CONGREGATION OF JEHOVAHS WITNESSES in 2017. There's a quitclaim deed filed in 2015 where ownership was transferred from several congregations to the Hyde Park congregation.

hindesky
It's finished. If you live in Montrose, expect someone to be knocking on your door so you can join their cult. I saw the workers and they didn't look like regular workers and now we find out why. There were 100 of them at a time the few times I went by during construction. "Rodney Spencer, spokesman for the denomination in Texas, said that the location “needed a revamp.” The facility was torn down, and crews have been working diligently to erect a new structure as soon as possible. But these aren’t your typical construction workers. “For the past 100 years, Kingdom Halls have been entirely designed and built by Jehovah’s Witnesses in the community,” Spencer said. Most volunteers came from the Houston area — and others as far away as Colorado, Oregon and Hawaii." https://www.houstonchronicle.com/lifestyle/houston-belief/article/new-kingdom-hall-serves-3-congregations-jehovah-s-17925312.php
