ChannelTwoNews
Earlier this year, the Fort Bend County Commissioners Court approved development of a new multi-purpose venue in Rosenberg. Dubbed the EpiCenter (due to it's location at the at/near the center of the County) for now, it would be constructed on the south side of the Southwest Freeway between Bamore Road and Fairgrounds Road, near the Fort Bend County Fairgrounds. Some of the residents in the adjacent Cottonwood subdivision have expressed concern about building such a venue and the impact it may have on drainage, traffic and infrastructure among other things. The city is expected to sign off on the final plat in the near future, with construction to begin soon after - and complete by the 4th quarter of 2022. Here are some renderings from the press release from the county. Video from Fort Bend County Fort Bend EpiCenter Project - YouTube

ChannelTwoNews
I was back in the area in the past week. Wasn't able to get pictures, but it looks like there's an enormous slab for the foundation that was in the process of being poured when I drove by. I likely won't be back until December, so hopefully there will be more to see on site by that time.

Pleak
So this is progressing very fast. The main part of the building actually looks closed in now - and you can see the shape of the entrance hall. Monument sign is up. Fairground Road (north side of property) was closed approximately a month ago. Was a two-lane asphalt road - I believe it will be a 4 lane boulevard that connects with the entrance to the Fairgrounds off Highway 36 when it re-opens. Will try to get pics next time I drive close enough.
Pleak
Took a few lousy phone pics yesterday. Sorry I'm no photographer. Looks like walls and roof are up. Still needs exterior cladding. They have been putting the glass in the entrance hall the last couple weeks as the pics show. Most of the parking lot is poured. Still work to be done on entrances/exits as the roads surrounding are still under construction. Last pic - you can see the top of the monument sign peeking over the precast storm drain.
