Popular Post Highrise Tower
Nice to see the sunken water retention fields are working as intended. I assume the TMC BioPort project will be similar, but on a larger scale. A new road appeared on the side of Building 1: Levit Green Boulevard: Sino Biological will be listed on here!!

bobruss
Dixie Drive was closed down today for some major electrical hookups to the transmission lines that run on the west side of 288 on the Levit Green property. There were at least 4 or 5 large buckets trucks working in the middle of Dixie and I had to detour back to Holcombe to get across 288.

Popular Post Highrise Tower
The landscaping a long Grand Blvd has been cleaned and cut!! Might be the biggest cosmetic feature yet. Looks so good! Looks like they are working on a new section/parcel. I also noticed they are replacing Grocer's Supply Company's gate with a new fence. This looks promising for the new phase!

strickn
IDK... hard pressed to see anything that stands apart from a newish suburb of Charlotte, Orlando, Nashville or Dallas, if I hadn't already known what I was looking at. If it had more pine trees I might have guessed The Woodlands. Every little bit could help I guess but what is so fitting for the nation's fourth largest city about this? Popular Post Highrise Tower
Levit Green wow!! The outdoor amenities are amazing! All of the chairs and tables are colorful. A thin bar countertop with bar stools over looking the lake! This would be a great place to throw a house party. I believe Hines was focusing on employee collaboration and socializing. This would be my favorite seat: Just add a beer and you're good to go!

Highrise Tower
Bad news it appears. Levit Green's staging area, including the construction trailers, is being packed up and cleared. I guess the life science slow down affected the schedule. Looks like only the first building will be built for now. Houston's class-a life science sector needs to gain some traction. Let's go!! Phase I AKA building 1, looks great. Hopefully more, even taller, buildings line Levit Green Boulevard soon! 7

Hopefully more, even taller, buildings line Levit Green Boulevard soon! Related to hopefully spurring some life sciences growth in the state of Texas, SB 2289- exempting equipment owned by medical/biomedical manufacturers from contributing to the ad valorem tax valuation- has passed the Texas Legislature and been sent to Governor Abbott. (I can't imagine a world in which he wouldn't sign it.) Then it will be up to the voters of Texas to approve as a constitutional amendment (shameless plug to always always always make a point to vote in Texas constitutional elections, there's often some great stuff in there like this). This would significantly reduce the taxes paid by medical/biomedical manufacturers and hopefully encourage more companies to locate and grow in Texas and spur additional developments like Levit Green. The Greater Houston Partnership, in its Week 19 Legislature update says: "Texas's effective tax rate for this industry is 28.3% – more than double the next highest competitor state, North Carolina. In fact, Texas’ largest competitors in this sector, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, all have an effective tax rate below 13.5% for this industry." Hopefully we're in for a biomedical boom in Texas! https://capitol.texas.gov/BillLookup/History.aspx?LegSess=88R&Bill=SB2289 https://www.houston.org/news/hou-atx-legislative-update-week-19 9
