CREguy13
Looks like this is about to start. Wasn't able to get a picture here, but there was a sign up (that I had not seen before) stating they were 35% presold and breaking ground in January 2023. Checked their website after posting and it reflects both the 35% pre-sales figure and the January groundbreaking. I talked with a GT Leach worker, asked him who the concrete contractor was going to be but he couldn't remember the name but said it wasn't anybody they had worked with before, not Baker, TAS or Keystone.

hindesky
The guy that install the graphics on site said this almost didn't start and may be waiting for more sales of the condos before it moves forward. It seems like all work has stopped.

It seems like all work has stopped. The last email I rec'd from them (last week) said they were at 40% sold, and construction had started (which of course, doesn't mean diddly squat). This would be a real blow to Randall Davis & Co, if he had to cancel this. Two in a row? High end buyers will steer clear. I drove by this last week, I have a good friend in The Revere, who's been complaining about all the noise. It didn't seem that close to me, but maybe the noise carries. Or maybe she's delicate. hindesky
Took this pic from the Allen Harrison Companies Kipling St project. Kind of surprised they were erecting the tower crane during the week but I went over there the AT crane wasn't blocking the street. They were using LWL riggers which is a division of Brown and Root. B&R bought them out a while back so they could work in the plants/refineries. LWL had a long term contract at the Exxon Baytown refinery.
hindesky
The Peinier 450 - 20 ton is up but the crew is doing the finishing touches to it. As the GT Leach guy I talked a while back said they are using a concrete contractor that they had never used before. He couldn't remember the name at the time but it is "Halstruc" out of Katy. Tx. I've never seen or heard of them. https://halstruc.com Lewis Crane and Hoist owns the town crane. They are out of Mansfield, Tx. This is the third job were I've seen on of their cranes. They seem to be taking a portion of the tower crane business from some of the others around town. I wonder if they underbid the projects to get a foot in the door. http://lewiscraneandhoist.com Bobcat Contracting was the crane company who erected the tower crane. Out of Hillsboro, Tx. Another company I've never heard of. https://bobcatcontracting.com For those wondering what Galatians 6 14 means, I had to look it up because I have zero clue....... “But far be it from me to boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ by which the world has been crucified to me and I to the world.” 6
