The buildings on the block of Scott St between Drew St and Tuam have been cleared and a fence put around the entire block. This is my guess and it's 2 blocks north if the Icon. Texasota
This section of Scott is a secondary transit st, which allows for 50% less parking (assuming they also opt in to the Walkable Places form standards.) It will be interesting to see how the Planning Commission looks at this.

toxtethogrady
Student housing not associated with a specific college or university? If so, how do they intend to make sure it's exclusively students?
hbcu
some will enter into agreements with local schools to get overflow students while others will make you show a fee receipt to prove you're a student
phillip_white
That's true that some universities contract portions of an apartment complex to cover overflows from on-campus housing, but I don't see that being a major issue at UH or TSU. I would imagine that it's not illegal to rent only to students as long as there is a defined policy saying so and all student applicants are treated equally (part-time vs full-time, not required to attend a specific school). I think that's the same premise as senior citizen apartment communities, but those may have government oversight similar to low-income housing. Purdueenginerd
The use of dimensional timber for the stud framing and then use of light gauge for the floor framing is a little unusual to me. Nothing structurally wrong with it, but I'm curious the rationale behind it. Have not run across that before.
