Southeast Texas Biotechnology Park: 64-Acre BioTech Campus In The TMC

Highrise Tower

Recommended Posts

Anyone remember details about this? I was trying to see if there were any concept renderings.  This was going to be located to where the (now) the UT Research Park Complex is.

All the TMC players were involved. This was the original TMC3 if you will.

This project was proposed in 2001.  I'll post a few articles for reference.

(4) supporting the growth and development of new biotechnology enterprises.
(b) The park shall be located in the area of Houston, Texas, known as the Texas Medical Center.

The membership of the coalition may include any interested governmental or private for-profit or nonprofit institution, including:
(1) Baylor College of Medicine;
(2) Johnson Space Center of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration;

  • The title was changed to Southeast Texas Biotechnology Park: 64-Acre BioTech Campus In The TMC
  • 7 months later...

I found the old master plan!

Browne McGregor Architects provided the initial master plan for the University of Texas Research Park. The project, located just south of the Texas Medical Center has 64 acres and 15 buildings containing approximately 2,000,000 square feet of space for the research and development of life science technologies. The project also involves structured parking to serve each of the buildings.
