It's not Pizza Patron, it just looks similar. But that logo has been there the whole time so it most likely has nothing to do with any business that might be put there. There is also Dominos, Piola, Love Buzz, Papa Johns, Pepperoni's, Pizza Hut, Pizza Love, Luigi's, the other Luigi's, Gotham Pizza, Russo's, Gypso Poet, and Pink's Pizza all within a mile. You can never have too much pizza.

No clue what kind of article this is, but I see a notice for a TABC permit application for a bar called Joe's Place with the same address.  The article is from April 2020.

The logo that was painted on the building matches the one at Joe's Car Wash on Montrose:

Joe’s Place signage modeling via projector.

If I had to guess, I’d expect Joe’s Place to take on a garage bar theme given the connection to Joe’s Car Wash.

Also, like the car wash, it has flagpoles out front.

Saint Dane's successor, Joe's Place, closed some time this year. I think it finally opened in late fall of 2021.

Moving into the bar space at 502 Elgin St is Stick Talk. It's a food truck from Alife Hospitality (Lost & Found, Kamp, Prospect Park) serving Japanese and Cajun fusion fare cooked on hibachi grills. This will be the food truck's first brick-and-mortar location.

"Stick Talk Cajun Hibachi is opening its first brick-and-mortar location on the old Saint Dane's Bar and Grille along Elgin.

Stick Talk is under construction and is expected to open this year, possibly in the fall. Hours are expected to be similar to the food truck."

"The Japanese hibachi and Cajun fusion operation, which opened in 2021 (5819 Richmond), will open a full-service restaurant on Friday, Sept. 1, at 502 Elgin. The project is the latest from ALife Hospitality Group, the operators of concepts such as Bungalow, Prospect Park, Lost & Found, Kamp Houston and Southside Sporting Club."

I'm still convinced this location is just a money laundering operation... .. Did Joe's place ever even open before they left? The only people I ever saw there was the guy living in his car i guess doing security... been a weird spot since Dane's left.

They opened for a few weeks late last year, then shutdown to revamp their menu and never reopened.

No pics but work has already started on this.

@tigereye @loon Joe's Place opened at 502 Elgin St in late 2021. It closed sometime in early 2022.

Here's the post from further up in the topic regarding the closure:
