hindesky
Why is this topic in the East End? The hospital is on the north loop 610. To me that is nowhere in the East End. East End's borders should be defined with IH10 East Frwy on the north and IH 45 Gulf Frwy on the south and 59/69 Frwy on the west and ship channel 610 east. hindesky
The Greater East End Management District has a map showing what they call the East End outlined in red. EADO really isn't in those boundaries but many think it should be. They have Clinton Dr. as the northern boundary. https://eastenddistrict.com/wp-content/uploads/EE-Map-8.5x11.pdf Edited October 19, 2021 by hindesky

Highrise Tower
High profile master plan for this Harris Health hospital. Includes players such as HKS, JLL, and Smith And Company Architects. In June 2024, two towers are supposed to go up. hindesky's posting above includes a 500k Sq Ft garage. I wonder if that was apart of the master plan? Maybe the garage as listed, started early? Looks like an almost 10-year master plan. June 2022 - 2028. Glad to see this!

Urbannizer
https://houstonlanding.org/commissioners-court-puts-2-5-billion-bond-for-harris-health-expansion-on-november-ballot/ Harris County voters will be asked to approve a $2.5 billion bond issue from the Harris Health System to fund the rebuilding and upgrading of several hospital district facilities, including an expansion of Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. Harris County Commissioners on Thursday voted unanimously to put the bond request on the November ballot. If passed by voters, the bond package would include funding for: an expansion of LBJ Hospital, including the addition of a new Level I-capable trauma center, to open in 2028; renovation of the existing LBJ Hospital; the addition and renovation of Harris Health clinics across the county; the renovation of Ben Taub Hospital. The hospital district’s capital improvement plans will cost $2.9 billion to complete, but Harris Health plans to fund a portion of that cost through philanthropic donations and internal cost cutting measures.
