Cullen Center In Downtown

I worked for Cullen Center, Inc. in the late 70's.   At that time, the complex consisted of 500 Jefferson (1962), 600 Jefferson (1974), the Dresser Tower (1973), and the Whitehall Hotel (1962) .

This slide photo dated October 1, 1963 shows the two buildings completed as of that date: 500 Jefferson and the Hotel America (later renamed Whitehall).    I believe the photo may have been taken from the new Humble Oil Building at 800 Bell.    The YMCA is visible in the foreground.  (Photo by Glenn E.
