jgs1419
The Greater Houston Builder's Association has developed a green building standard for Houston. Participation is voluntary, so far seven builders have enrolled in the program. The program is focused on bringing green building practices to mainstream residential construction (aka production or track building). The kickoff of the program was last week. See today's article in the Chronicle.Chronicle Article 12/18/05HBJ Article 12/12/05The guidelines are comparable to the 1 star level of Austin's Green Building program. There isn't yet a distinction between levels of green building achieved nor is third party verification required (some are electing to use 3rd party verification but it's voluntary).
