Noticed an older building on Bertner today. The building and parking lot was fenced with a tan screen.  Is there something happening here?

If you zoom in, it looks like the building has broken windows.

This is the original St Luke’s hospital building. I know Texas Children’s Hospital purchased the medical office tower seen behind this building, but I don’t know if they purchased the hospital complex as well.

  • The title was changed to St. Lukes Original Hospital on Bertner

Looks like the original hospital is slated for demolition.  Built in 1954. Here's a picture.

The original seven-story hospital building, built in 1954 and now used for administrative functions, will be torn down, and new facilities will be built on that space as well as possibly on other nearby undeveloped land owned by St. Luke’s, according to [St. Luke’s senior vice president David] Koontz.

Welp. They are doing a facade remodel here?

I wonder why they just don't demolish the 1950s building? A nurse at St. Luke's told me the original hospital is prone to flooding.

Pictures from today.

Facade remodel.
