Hawaii highrise construction

Recommended Posts

My mom went to Hawaii for a week.  She sent me these pictures. She knew I like highrises so it was sort of a joke.

I wish I could find my pictures from Bangkok, where the scaffolding on high rise construction was all wood or bamboo lashed together. I guess it works, but it looked pretty scary.

^^ Of course, the world over all of the major cathedrals, temples, tall viaducts, etc., etc. were built with some sort of plant based staging until ~150 years ago...

Oh man, I gotta look through my old vacation pics now. I remember that horrifying bamboo scaffold with little to no planking being all over Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.

EDIT: I couldn't find the scaffold, but enjoy this OSHA-approved brick throwing line in KL.
