Interesting article about new developments for TXRX "East End Makers Hub" and "The Center for Pursuit".

Looks like East End Makers Hub will be at 6501 Navigation and Center for Pursuit at 4400 Harrisburg.

Anyone have info on these developments and where they'll be located? Curious if they'll be in the garrow-commerce block of Sherman as they currently are.

TXRX already exists and is on 205 Roberts St. I'm guessing this is an expansion project at its existing facility.

If you want to know more about the center for pursuit project its here:

@Luminare, you beat me to my edit. After some googling, it seems that TXRX is moving to 6501 Navigation to renovate a larger existing structure for the Makers Hub. Wish they were staying at Roberts as it's right in my neighborhood.

holy crap. are they going to take up that entire warehouse?

You think it might be a good idea to mention in the title that this involves TXRX or the fact that they are moving?

Probably should include that in the title. Though I'm not forum savvy enough to know how to do that.

Looks like they're only taking up a portion of it. With multiple additional companies taking up the rest.

Ah. No wonder. That would make sense given its size. That would be interesting if it comes to fruition.

As for editing a title, like how you would normally edit a post you make, just click on edit and if you are the first to create a thread then you will have the ability to change the title. Hopefully that helps. Give it a try.

Houston Museum of Natural Science inks lease, startup expands in East End Maker Hub

https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/inno/stories/news/2021/09/09/east-end-maker-hub-museum-natural-science-lease.html

One of the largest makerspaces in the region has signed new tenants, including the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

The museum leased nearly 8,700 square feet at the East End Maker Hub, a more than 300,000-square-foot facility designed for companies in industrial manufacturing, 3D printing, light fabrication and other sectors.

HMNS regularly designs and builds technology and features for new exhibitions in its Museum District facility at 555 Hermann Park Drive. The museum is in the midst of designing technology and features for a new permanent exhibit hall focused on chemistry and physics — Welch Hall: Matter & Motion. The museum plans to use its space in the EEMH, at 6501 Navigation Blvd., for assembly and fabrication needs for new exhibits.

Separately, Houston-based design and production workshop HTX Made signed a lease for 17,000 square feet at the EEMH. The firm provides built-to-order furniture, prototype design services, equipment and design manufacturing, and more.

EEMH will be expanding over the next couple years to include a biotech campus, manufacturing accelerator, and some quality of life improvements (dining, parking garage, day care, even apartments) according to this document on their website: East-End-Maker-Hub-Expansion-Projects.pdf (eastendmakerhub.org) The expansions will mostly be on the other side of Navigation, but they're also planning to add more around the current warehouse space as well. Some of the tenant renovations of their units into labs/offices are starting to look great as well.
