It’s within the same general parish as St. Arnold’s recently-opened beer cathedral and existing brewery. We are a few weeks away from filing permits and starting the renovation of our building. Inside of the building there will be a kitchen/seating space for an aspiring chef or restaurant to create an experience that will complement the brewery/taproom. Position Summary We are looking for a chef and/or restaurant that can create and serve food that will complement our fresh beer. For the right individual, we will consider someone who is a first time restaurateur. The business will be separate from the brewery, although some collaboration and cooperation is required. The Acme Patten Works company was operational at 1504 Chapman . Local Group Brewing has a photo on Facebook with a plaque on the building for the business' establishment in 1948. From a press release Eater Houston published today: A new brewpub is headed to Houston’s Near Northside in late 2019, promising “a patio with killer views.” That’s what Local Group Brewing co-founder Michael Steeves said in a press release announcing the news that this brewery with on-site kitchen and an air-conditioned taproom is moving into 1504 Chapman Street in Hardy Yards. Steeves, Todd Donewar, and head brewer James “Huggy Bear” Wolfe are behind Local Group Brewing, which will feature more than 20 taps, eight of which will be connected directly to ten-barrel serving tanks for beer freshness. The 7,500-square-foot space is in the works from Method Architecture and contractor GSD Construction, with a plan to gut the space, add that patio along with windows and garage doors, and dress the brewpub up with and white oak and steel furniture. It was in the forum Other Neighborhoods for over a year and when I last checked this afternoon, it was still there. Why move it here when this is not in downtown Houston? Is everything near Hardy Yards going to be moved into the downtown forum? Is everything about Fifth Ward going here too? What about places along Houston Avenue and Washington Avenue? Will they be moved to the downtown forum? One of the things I liked about this forum was the care by specific users in adding discussions and placing them in the appropriate forums. That's not so lately and that's a disappointment. Since there isn't a forum for Near Northside, why not create one and add it to the Inner Loop forum? That would be feasible.
