More from Eater Houston this week:A new Mediterranean-influenced eatery named Ostia is headed to Montrose thanks to mega-restaurateur Jonathan Waxman’s former corporate chef. To open his new eatery at 2050 Dunlavy, Houston native Travis McShane is returning to Space City from his former outpost overseeing Waxman’s holdings across the U.S. According to Ostia’s website, the eatery will serve up “New American” cuisine that’s influenced with “Mediterranean and Italian undertones.” Think a la carte meats, pastas, and seasonally driven dishes. IntheKnowHouston Posted November 19, 2019 Share Posted November 19, 2019 Don't quote me on this, but there may be plans for another restaurant here for a total of two restaurants. This could be a dual concept much like La Lucha and Superica are in the Heights. I have asked around about Ostia since I came across their Instagram page in March. No one I know or my usual go-to industry insiders have any intel, but I did learn from someone last month that another restaurant may be in the planning stages. The other concept will compliment Ostia's Mediterranean-driven menu. While I didn't find definitive supporting evidence, I saw a 2011 Loopnet listing for 2050 Dunlavy and 2032 Dunlavy with the first proposed rendering pictured.
