That would be a heck of a walk for someone living at the opposite end of the building. According to the site plans posted above, there will be one other elevator on the northeast corner of the structure. On 3/5/2022 at 8:57 PM, hindesky said: I'm pretty sure they will have 1 or 2 more. They probably don't want to pay to rent more scaffolding, so they finish this one and move to the next. The forms for the second floor are in place on the northern half, but I don't think the concrete has been poured yet.

Brooklyn173
It seems 'cornice' ultimately derives from 'crown', so you are both right. Â "cornice (n.) 1560s, "a molded projection which crowns the part to which it is affixed," from French corniche (16c.) or directly from Italian cornice "ornamental molding along a wall," perhaps from Latin coronis "curved line, flourish in writing," from Greek koronis "curved object" (see crown)..."

Still very fast considering the size of the project  They've made tremendous progress (it's been less than a year since ground was broken). I wonder if they'll meet that goal and when the first occupants will move in.

Before NYE, maybe. I would guess Spring 2023 for first move-ins.

Do all of the units have to be finished before people move in? I notice that the southern half of the building is progressing more quickly than the northern half. It might be to their advantage to complete and lease these units first. People would probably prefer the units with a skyline view. By opening in phases, income could be generated, and the units lacking skyline views would be rented before the units on the northern side are available. This is just speculation. No, all the units do not have to be finished for people to move in. Buildings regularly open in phases, however this building still has a lot of construction to be done before they can get to that point. They're probably running electrical and plumbing on the side that is furthest along. I would say late Q1 2023 at the earliest for move ins.

phillip_white
They've started the interior finishing on the South side. Exterior looks almost halfway, with a driveway pour likely next week (assuming they don't start digging for the pool next).

dbigtex56
The construction fence has been removed, and (except for a small area on the north side of the building) the siding and windows have been installed. It's a more attractive building than I had expected it to be.

HoustonIsHome
Those drone shots show Midtowns potential. The infill apartments may not be architectural gems, but they house a ton more people than parking lots and derelict buildings.
