There are ways to provide for that without cutting the building's front door off from the sidewalk.

I think that will probably become an extra lane on Post Oak when they do the widening for the bus lanes in a few years.

Annnnd Richfish wins the award.  Jackpot.

Quoting directly... "I think that will probably become an extra lane on Post Oak when they do the widening for the bus lanes in a few years.".

Hopefully it earned me another great photo update. I see they went vertical on the west side of the site today driving back from work.

I know we are a little off topic but since you brought up the other ones I didn't notice you mention Apache.

I know I read somewhere on here that Apache might not build on the site next to The Blvd. project.

I hope this isnt so. It looked like a really nice design and would have really filled the gap.

Have you or anyone else heard anything positive about this project?

I was wondering that too.. If apache doesn't build there I hope they build a tower downtown.. Heh

Thank SkylineView, you're the best. Maybe I'm partial since I live here, but Uptown is really getting a great mix of residential/commercial/retail to become the gem of the city over the next decade.

depending on how well the area handles the influx of traffic, you may be right. though downtown is undergoing a renaissance of its own..

Agreed.

Pound for pound this has to be the most architecturally stunning highrise project in Houston. International tower and 609 Main could round out the top tier.

you all seem to forget this is a Randall Davis project; it will most likely turn out looking cheap.

Right... In... The stomach.

Actually the Cosmopolitian has grown on me. Absolutely hated it when it first came out. Once you pass by it everyday in the morning and late afternoon sunlight it's actually charming. I am hoping this project will do the same.

I was going to be a Debbie downer but thanks for doing it for me.

I hold hope that it will look as nice as the rendering.

I don't tHink the plans have much room to introduce tack, but I dunno.

Im holding on to hope

I must have bad taste, I'm a Randall Davis fan. I wish the Cosmo had a better garage, but pleased besides that.

The Cosmo's garage section is so cold looking from street view, they just do nothing to make that place seem inviting in the least. I hope Astoria does come out better around the ground level garage area.

I do think it is unfortunate that McDonald's got the larger end of the plot.

It really does look cramped. McDonald's ruins everything...

McDonald's sold part of its land for this development. I wouldn't say they ruined anything, they enabled the development.

They should have taken the smaller lot, I mean, it just makes more sense.

That is going to be such a skinny building.

This is Houston. We change out buildings as quickly as the weather changes.

MCDONALD'S will be gone soon

Thats the same thing I was thinking. Maybe 5 years at the most if development trends continue the way they are going. It just seems out of place now.
