Glad your'e back!!     I took a nasty spill a couple weeks ago, broke my leg and collarbone - no biking for me for the next couple of months unfortunately...I look forward to seeing your pic

Weather finally allowed me to get back on the bicycle. First up was to chase a Bike Tag, figured out where it was by doing some Google detective work.

I was unexpectedly off today and it was a gorgeous day for riding. Didn't have a Bike Tag to chase since mine is still the one they're looking for. Gave me lots of time to take construction pics since I didn't have to feel rushed.

Had to find a Bike Tag early in my ride, I knew I had seen it before and turns out I had during the Heights Scavenger Hunt but that used the fence with all the animals around the side of the house.

Shoulder is getting better so I tried a short ride. First thing up is chasing a Bike Tag, I've been letting some very easy ones slip out of my hands cause the shoulder has been hurting. Bike Tag was near the Orange Show and knew where it was so I had to get it before someone else did.

I really only intended to go chase a Bike Tag today, my legs were fried from 2 days of riding. Thought it was on the Brays Bayou Bike trail due to the fencing in the Bike Tag. I had figured it being between S.Main and Kirby but there were no old Oak trees and no Bluebonnets to be seen. So I was forced to try going eastbound in an incredible headwind. It ended being in McGregor park. Of course I was right by UH so I had to take some pics on my way back home. Oh, and find a new Bike Tag.

Left early to chase a Bike Tag, found it and was going to continue riding but it started raining and it was very cool, windy day for mid April so I cut the ride short. Bike Tag I was looking for was located near Lyons and Hwy 59/69.

Had to chase a Bike Tag early during my ride but it was a rehash of one I originally did. Riders redoing Tags makes the game too easy.  Someone created a map of all the previous Bike Tag locations to help prevent this. It was at St Thomas University done by Gonzo247 about 2 years ago.

Not sure why my Strava app shut off while at the Fairfield apartment project on Shepherd St. Maybe they are trying to get me to buy the paid version, they constantly bug me about it. Luckily my Apple Watch app was still on and it said 28 miles.

Had to find a Bike Tag during the start of my ride but instead of finding a Tag nearby I kept riding hoping some one else didn't beat me to it. They didn't, my Tag is the current one to find. The Bike Tag I had to find, easy one for me, I knew because of the glass wall and the high rise in the background. Their pic didn't show the museum. It's by the "Cloud Column".

Probably one of the last few days with some nice cool/dry weather before the fall. No Bike Tag to chase, mine is still the one to find. Some bike rider just posted that he got chased away by a crack head and he had to leave before taking a pic of my Tag. It's not the best part of town.

So someone finally found my Bike Tag but they posted it about 11am Sunday. I know where their Tag is but I'm not chasing it this late in the morning. It's by the Galleria area and my legs are fried from all the riding I've done the last few days. This was my Bike Tag that they found, it was across from UH by Cream Burger.

So a couple others riders found the last 2 Bike Tags, both in the Galleria area. Last night someone posted another one more in my network of where I ride. Travis Elementary School in the Heights. Chased it early this morning in my ride. Couldn't get close because it was in the playground area and there were students and teacher using it. Got a long shot of the dinosaur bones. Teacher giving me the evil eye. My Bike Tag is up for finding.

So I wasn't even up for riding today but some Bike Tag fiends found my Bike Tag early Sat. morning and they posted and found 2 more. From the current Bike Tag I saw, it looked like it was in River Oaks and muscled up the energy to chase it and produced one for them to find. I got lucky and stumbled on it. Can't let the easy ones get away.

I thought I could get a ride in before the rain started, I was wrong. While in Rice I started getting notices on my iPhone about rain and lightning. The sky was getting very dark and I heard some claps of thunder. Tried to hurry home but made it about 4 blocks from home and it started pouring.

My Bike Tag is the one everyone is looking for so I don't have to deal with that. This is the last Tag I had to find. When they posted it they didn't show what's in my pic but the 3 story metal clad building with the red awnings is how I was able to find it. They only built those metal clad buildings in 3 areas, Montrose, Freedman's Town and the West End/Rice Military. Tony's Corner Pocket on W. Dallas.

My Bike Tag is still up so I don't have to chase a new one. Someone claims they know where it is and will get it tonight.

Hottest ride so far this year, I'm sure it's going to get hotter.

My Bike Tag everyone is looking for.

Just a short ride to chase a Bike Tag that I knew exactly where it was. I took pictures of this mural years ago and am kind of surprised it's still there. The Tag I took is fairly new but at a popular late night restaurant so it might not last long.

I was riding the Heights Scavenger Hunt on Saturday. This year they moved it to Memorial weekend and we have 3 days before you have to turn in your findings. So I did 2 pages of it and plan on going back Sunday and Monday to look for more findings. It was tough finding them, sometimes you have to backtrack because you can't find it.

The pic is of one of the things we have to find, clue was "You might see this on the Pink Floyd Animals cover". It's real easy to miss the small things like this.

So I had to chase a Bike Tag but little did the person know that I have taken hundreds of pictures here at the ION, they made it too easy.  Notice the long trek east bound in 2nd Ward/East End, a super long train was blocking all the streets and it wasn't even moving. Didn't really plan going that way.

I had to chase a Bike Tag during the first part of my ride before someone beat me to it. After Googling "bronze statues in Houston" the one I was looking for was one of the last ones on the list. It's at Gragg Park off of S. Wayside and it's of John Glenn the NASA astronaut. Then I head back home a post my Bike Tag and continued my ride.

There is a new Bike Tag up, I know where it is but I don't want to go to Bellaire to get it on a weekday, too much traffic to deal with in order to get it.

You could drive to Bellaire, take the bike off the rack, ride 30 feet, and take the picture😁.  I don't see how you ride all those miles this time of year, and in Houston traffic. How does the biking compare to climbing the crane stairs?

I think that is cheating but some players have accused a couple of bikers of doing that. I ride early so the heat isn't as bad plus when your rolling your creating your own wind, its when you stop that it gets hot.

Climbing a tower crane isn't bad, the higher you get the cooler and windier it is plus there are platforms to rest every 20'. Coming down as you get to closer to the ground you can really feel the ground heat radiating.

Has anyone gone down Brays in a while? Was wanting to go past 610 but I heard a lot is shutdown.

It's closed at Buffalo Spdwy bridge going westbound and at Telephone Rd bridge eastbound but that looks close to opening back up.

This ride hurt a lot. I had to cut it short. Not having ridden in a week, the heat got to me. Anyway I had to chase a Bike Tag first. Someone posted a new one late last night. When I saw it I thought that this was going to be an impossible find, just a red door with a 300 above it. I started using Google Maps and but 300 block in the title and it was taking me to just about every street with a 300 block in it. Got frustrated and gave up. Later on I entered 300 Westheimer and lo and behold there is the front door of #'s dance club. Thing is he didn't have the canopy so that threw me off. Found it, I live blocks away and posted a new Tag.

They are still looking for my Bike Tag. Got an 1/2 hr earlier start to beat the heat and cut the ride short so I don't overheat like I did yesterday.

Had to chase a Bike Tag first during my ride. I knew where it was as these murals were painted in 2016 during the Meeting of Styles mural fest. I used to ride this trail pretty frequently but haven't been this far in a while. They repaved the section near TC Jester Park which it needed.

So someone found my Bike Tag rather quickly but it was right in front of the Snooze breakfast place in the Heights. The person that found it lives in the Heights since all their Tags seem to be in the Heights. I easily found theirs though on the beginning of my ride.

First was my Tag they found, second is the one I found this morning, I've taken a bunch of pics from here.

oh man, that's rough, hope you're recovered and back on the bike!

and hindesky, I admire your dedication, and appreciate your updates on this thread.

I haven't been on my bike since very early this year. I need to get back on and ride, and you're helping to inspire me!

Had to drag out my road bike to chase a Bike Tag, gravel bike is in the shop for rear wheel bearing replacement. My Paramount OS is a really nice, light weight and fast bike but it's a racing bike and not as comfortable of a ride as my AWOL Comp.

Bike Tag I found.....
