Looks like the address for the 42 story apartments might be 3711 Autry Park Dr. - Hanover Site G.

I think the address for Hanover Buffalo Park is 707 Marston St not 3711 Autry Park Dr.

707 Marston St is the location of the 42-story apartment / multifamily residence in the Autry Park mixed-use development. Building permits back this up.

Noted in comments of documents submitted for plan review:

  • Hanover Buffalo Park will have either 317 dwelling units or 328 dwelling units. There were two different numbers submitted. The city requested developers provide the correct number.

Below are details pertaining to 3711 Autry Park Dr / Hanover Suite G. The details were included in  documents submitted for review to the city:

  • Hanover Autry Park - Site G | 3540 W. Dallas St

  •  Proposed: Three Shell Buildings, Two For Future Restaurants

  • Scope: Three (3) new ground up, single story buildings located within a central park each looking onto a shared plaza. The largest building is a 2,124 sq/ft shell building, intended to house a future restaurant tenant. The next largest building is a 1,521 sq/ft shell building, also intended to house a future restaurant. The smallest building is a 573 sq/ft utility building that will house restrooms & shared utilities for the three buildings.

  • Sheet A0.01 [cover] (V2)

    • (A2)assembly (Restaurant) @ 2,124 Sq/ft | G1 Building

    • (A2)assembly (Restaurant) @ 1,521 Sq/ft | G2 Building

    • (U)utility @ 573 Sq/ft | G3 Building

One of the buildings at 3711 Autry Park Dr will house MF Lobster, Chris Kinjo's new restaurant. MF Lobster will be located in the 2,124 sf building.

That is a seriously beefy foundation! Is this typical or maybe a bit over engineered given proximity to bayou?

It is just the style of support they choose to use. The Post Oak tower did the same. Most seem to use pilings. Probably based on geotech data and costs.

I didn't think any tall building in Houston used pilings.

The tall buildings I've seen under construction here just use a floating foundation that weighs enough to keep the building upright.

I think I saw some with bored piles. Or maybe that is part of the floating foundation. I am getting into a topic I don't know enough about.

More about the portion of Autry Park at 3711 Autry Park Dr. It's included in the circled map and is located on the corner of Buffalo Park Dr.

I think the restaurants could be for chef Chris Kinjo's MF Lobster and Annam. I'm not completely certain.

This is from the plan review submitted:

  • 3711 Autry Park Dr, Suites 100, 200, & 300

  •  Proposed: three shell buildings, two for future restaurants

Houston Chronicle published an article today announcing MF Lobster & Ceviche (3711 Autry Park Dr, Suite 100) and Annam (811 Buffalo Pk Dr, Suite 120).

Both restaurants are new dining concepts opening in the Autry Park mixed-use. Chef and restaurateur Chris Kinjo is the proprietor of both. As previously speculated, MC2, is designing the interior for each restaurant.

Details about MF Lobster & Ceviche from the article:

  • "The 2,200-square-foot restaurant will be situated in a round pod structure on the green park space at Autry Park."

  • "The pod structure, described as Houston’s only completely round restaurant, will feature an eight-seat bar and additional seating for 65 indoors with a 30-seat patio."

Details about Annam:

  •   "The 3,000-square-foot restaurant designed with modern French-Vietnamese interiors, will serve Vietnamese-inspired tapas with a French twist..."

  • "The restaurant/wine bar will be located on the ground level of Hanover Autry Park."

MF stands for magic fingers. Chis Kinjo has addressed the meaning behind MF many times over the years. It's also been mentioned in various articles.

Here's one of those articles:

On the day of the Art Car Parade?  That seems like it would be monumentally bad planning.  Hopefully he meant next Saturday, not today.

The one single day that Allen Parkway has more people & traffic than any other day of the year. And they pick that day.

"Monumentally bad planning" may be an understatement.😁

One suspects 1 am Sunday was the plan all along.  Mat pours are pretty carefully planned, typically involving permitted street closings etc. etc.  They probably would not have been able to get a permit for necessary street closings on the day of the Art Car Parade.  (And that's in addition to the logistical nightmare of trying to orchestrate the time-sensitive deliveries around all that traffic and other street closures; Very unlikely ANY contractor would make that mistake.)

Opening January 2024

  • Mayahuel
High-energy modern Mexico City cantina and cocktail bar featuring street food and cantina classics from Michelin Star chefs

When I saw Mayahuel in @nate4l1f3's post, my thought was this could be Picos Hospitality Group new dining concept. The restaurant group is known for Arnaldo Richard's Picos.

Not too long ago, Instagram suggested I follow the account Mayahuel.htx. Picos Hospitality Group is listed in the bio.

However, given the description from the above photo, Mayahuel may be a restaurant from someone else.

Mayahuel is possibly a new food & beverage concept from Culinary Khancepts. The hospitality group operates Star Cinema Grill, Liberty Kitchen, and State Fair. There's an entity for Mayahuel Autry Park tied to Culinary Khancepts.

Described as a "modern Mexico City cantina and cocktail bar," Mayahuel is one of two forthcoming dining concepts from Culinary Khancepts. Leo's, a fine dining companion to the River Oaks Theater, opens later this year at 2009 W Gray in the River Oaks Shopping Center.

I also wonder which unit Mayahuel is leasing at Autry Park? Located on the retail and merchandising site map - from on Autry Park's website - there is a ground floor retail at Hanover Autry Park for a taqueria and mezcaleria. Maybe the Mexican bar & grill will operate there?

On the Autry Park website is an updated retail site map. The map below shows the location Mayahuel at 811 Buffalo Park Dr (possibly suite 130). It's one of several Hanover Autry Park ground floor retail.

In the last few weeks, Autry Park updated the retail section on its website. The update includes a fuller list of tenants and opening timelines.

There isn't much difference from the list @nate4l1f3 shared in February, with the exception of Sloan/Hall's inclusion.
